I'm super impressed that you were able to continue!
I did giggle a little, because that seems to be a daily event (thankfully only at home) for me at 19 weeks with #2, a cough, sneeze or throwing up in the morning, and I'm off to find new pants. Motherhood- sigh.

Help!!!!!!
How do you Tell the difference between urine and amniotic fluid?
honeydew / 7444 posts
@Rainbow Sprinkles: With amniotic fluid, you'll feel a constant leak/wetness. I was so embarrassed the first time around, i thought it was amniotic fluid, but it was really urine!
I just saw your post now, and i am impressed/amazed you continued to shop! I would've been mortified!!!

@Freckles: all day I have had this constant wet feeling (after I put on dry clothes). I kept thinking it smelled sweet, and I was caught off guard every time I went pee because I smelled such a sweet smell. Tonight I squatted, and more liquid came out, and then a little more when I lifted my leg to pull my pants off.
I'm so confused! Either my water broke or I have a serious bladder issue.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: From all I've read, your amniotic fluid will smell very sweet, so if you're getting a sweet smell, I'd be putting a call in to your hospital ASAP! Wow, baby #2 might be on her way - you have been measuring ahead this whole time haven't you? And I saw your bump pic where the baby totally dropped, so maybe your dates really have been off this whole time! Either way, I'd definitely be calling! Good luck!

@Ree723: it does seem so strange that in lose my plug 4 days ago, yesterday the baby drops way down low, and today I may or may not be leaking fluid? I don't know if I should sleep it off or not....I don't feel anything!
I am 35.5 weeks, but have measured exactly 2 weeks ahead since 15 weeks. I'm convinced it is a false alarm.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Hmm, I'd maybe be tempted to sleep it off for right now and put a call in to your OB first thing in the morning, unless you start feeling contractions, in which case I'd call the hospital straightaway. Otherwise, I know it's late there, but if there's a 24 hr pharmacy, maybe you can make a run out to pick up some of those strips that test your fluid to see if it really is amniotic fluid? Either way, it definitely sounds like baby girl doesn't want to wait until thanksgiving to meet her momma and will be here before then!
I wish I had better advice for you but my water didn't break until I hit 10 cm so I have no personal experience in this regard... I'll be thinking of you though!

@Ree723: ooh, I will definitely buy those strips tomorrow morning! Thank you!! I am feeling really silly that it's just a false alarm.

Bless your heart!
What an awesome mom you are- you did not even blame the wetness on LO to the cashier:) I totally would have sold my LO out!

Wow, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I read this. You are awesome for finishing your shopping! Don't leave it too long to find out if it was pee or amino fluid!!

you are super mom! it reminds me of my friend who was at the farmers market when all of the sudden, one toddler peed his pants and the other toddler pooped--she was trying to carry one and hold the hand of the other while trying to pay.
about 4 months postpartum, i left work, got on the metro, and walked home. i swear that with every step on on that 10-minute walk, i emptied my bladder, drip by drip. i couldn't do anything to stop it unless i wanted to sit down in the middle of the street and just stay there.

@PrincessBaby: I absolutely would have thrown DD under the bus with that one.
@Rainbow Sprinkles: what's the update? Your water breaking or just peeing yourself? My water broke immediately after I peed. So I knew that's what happened. And it kept breaking when I tried to put on shoes. So I changed 3 times.

So sorry!
Before having a baby I might have said I would have run out, but if I had been in there with LO, I would have finished my shopping, too!
BTW, I peed myself more than once when I was pregnant, but it just happened to only be in the privacy of my own home.
