at my daycare they have a rule that after a child has been sick or had a high temperature over 100 they have to be picked up and then they cant come back the next day even if they are better or cleared by a doctor, they must be 24 hours symptom free before coming back. I do understand that they are trying to prevent illnesses from spreading, but its kind of pointless because my baby keeps getting ill there! I assume that many kids are contagious BEFORE they even start showing symptoms rather than after. I had to pick my baby up yesterday because her tep was 101, and by the time I got home with her it had gone up to 102.6, so I took her to the doctor and she advised us to use infant advil at night and infant acetaminophen during the day. This is like the 3rd time in less 2 months that I have had to lose work days due to my baby being ill. I'm starting to think its really not even worth me taking her to the daycare, she was NEVER sick when I was home with her. THey told me that even if she feels better today I cant bring her in today or even maybe monday. But I'm still paying them of course for the days my baby isnt there. I'm just frustrated I guess..
How do you working moms manage taking days off from work when your baby is sick
