I love labs, golden retrievers, or cocker spaniels. So cute!

Chihuahuas. I know three of them and none of them are loud and obnoxious. My chihuahua is the perfect size for cuddling and she's really cute.

We had a collie growing up and I loved him! He was such a great dog, even if he was huge! My sister recently got a sheltie puppy and I'm in love. I think if we ever get a dog, that's the breed I'd want.

I love big dogs - labs, newfoundlands, retrievers. Hubby loves and is dying to get a english bulldog, but they cost too much up front and their medical needs start from the get go.

I love mutts. I love how they all look different, where, say, a yellow lab always looks like a yellow lab. So, I'm incredibly partial to mixed breeds. That said, I love border collies, Australian shepherds, and corgis (ha, since that is what I think my mutt is a mix of, roughly). H really wants some kind of pit bull mix later on, when our future kids are a little older. We will most likely always get rescue mixed breeds though, I wouldn't buy from a breeder.

@lilteacherbee: we have a sheltie! Everyone asks if he is a collie because he's so large. He will be 3 in October, and weighs 50 lbs. he's got some chub but he's generally just large - we have to buy him size L harnesses! He's such a good dog though. Tell your sister if she runs into barking problems (they're extremely vocal as they get older!), a citronella spray collar was the best $35 I ever spent we only had to put it on him 2-3 times and it's a world of difference!

Large breeds, especially labs. They have personality and are very sweet.

Greyhounds! We became obsessed with them when we started looking for our first dog and then have never been able to consider another breed since!

Same here - I hope to get a dog when my son is a little older - old enough that he can care for it by himself (for my sister that was 6 years old!).

I think we would probably get a bigger dog like a lab or golden retriever. I've had good experiences with both those dogs.

I've had bad experiences with dogs (more than good ones) so since I know I like those two breeds, I'll stick with them lol

@Rubies: Cocker spaniels are ADORABLE. My parents got one when I was a teenager (still have him). But he is the NAUGHTIEST dog I have EVER met. Even though he gets punished, he doesn't care! Every night after dinner he jumps on the kitchen table and tries to eat any leftover food or food that hasn't been cleaned up yet. He digs in the trash can every day. He is so naughty, cute yes, but a little devil!

i love jindos esp. white ones that's what i had growing up. the only thing is that they are way too high maintenance, but i have such a love for that breed.

@Mrs. Bee: I grew up with a Newfoundland and I've heard they get along really well with Corgis, if you are looking for a good big dog/small dog pairing. I don't know if it's true, but it sounds pretty cute!

@Coco Bee: Spaniels are SO food-oriented! We have to race to clear our table as soon as we get up or else our dog will clear it for us. When she was a puppy she hopped up on the kitchen counter and ate the Thanksgiving turkey. It does make them suckers for training though!

@spaniellove: hahaha good to know! I didn't know they were any more food-oriented than other dogs. My parents tried putting him in obedience class, and he would try to play with the other dogs. He was doing pretty well for awhile, but my family lacks consistency in training.

I'm a big fan of rescue dogs.

That said i will always have a special place in my heart for shiba inus. they are little trouble makers and have a huge prey drive and like to escape. We rescued a 2 yr old male when i was 16 he was my best bud. loved sleeping in my bed and playing in the snow. They are so cute when they are puppies and he was really good with kids but could not be trusted with other animals.

We now have a lab/hound mix - we're really not sure but we always get tons of compliments and questions about what he is.

My favorite dog is a resscued dog. They just know they are lucky to have had a second chance.

Seeing as I work with a Chihuahua Rescue I should also probably say Chiahuahua even though we have 3 other kind of dogs besides our Chiahuahua.

@spaniellove: I used to think the same thing! When my sister got her puppy, she was only 8 weeks old I think, so she was sooo tiny compared to our big collie!

I love dogs but don't want any of my own (terrible I know)...it takes so much work to train and take care of a dog well and I can't handle it when their health starts to decline.

I love golden retrievers, Austrian shepherds, and corgis (so cute!). My husband wants a boxer but he admits that we won't get a dog until LO is old enough to take care of it. I would want a little dog (little poos like @chopsuey said)...and one that doesn't shed

I love chow chows but Ive never had a dog and don't know all the races.
