We do a crock pot meal called Italian chili that's really good. I also love pasta fagioli soup or oven dishes like chicken and rice.

The ratings are low on this one, but we think it's absolutely delicious. We usually make this as a side dish, with a roasted chicken; maple glazed carrots with pecans: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/glazed-carrots-with-pecans-10000001932461/

@deerylou: That penne looks delish!
I like soups/stews and roasted chicken and veggies this time of year. I'm also eyeing a dairy free lasanga recipe I want to try because I miss lasagna so much.

I also love soups, ham and bean being my favorite along with white turkey chili.

@raintreebee: I do a combination of this with my mom's recipe. http://boomama.net/2011/09/09/i-think-mamaw-would-like-em-too/
When I add the stock, I include celery and onions in big chunks to simmer with it. It adds extra flavor. And I usually simmer longer than 10 minutes. I dip them out before adding the dumpling dough. I also tend to add more Worcestershire and garlic.... And whichever seasonings tickle my fancy at the time.

Chili! But I love it enough it eat it year round. And we do various recipes. White chicken, venison, and regular beef are a staple in the fall and winter for us.
