You bees are BRILLIANT!
I only have a couple:
- put cotton rounds in makeup compacts when traveling to keep them from breaking (no more
- hold an unlit match (or two) between teeth when chopping onions -- the sulfer from the match head does something to neutralize the onion fumes

@bamblm: whoa! IDK either of those! Gotta find the doorbell chime this week!
@FutureMrsMcK: The TP to hold wrapping paper - GENIUS!
Can only think of a couple right now:
1) To remove any sticker labels and price tags on things easier, use your blow-dryer for a little bit - comes right off with no sticky residue. I use that trick all the time.
2) To repel dust on baseboards - wipe with dryer sheets. Also, to keep metal fixtures shiny and smooth (and repel water, on sink facets), wipe with wax paper).
3) And this one about the measurements on the Solo cups! It was mind-boggling when I learned about this a couple of years ago! lol!

Great thread!
My favourite of late is, wear bobby-pins with the "bumpy" side against your head (not facing outwards) - they are designed to be worn that way and the bumps keep the pin in place I use far fewer to put my hair up these days!

@evenstar982: omg. i've been wearing bobby pins incorrectly my entire life.

@aprk: omg, this seems so simple and yet i've never tried it! i always end up throwing out the jar with a little bit left because the bottom gets hard...but doesn't it make a mess when you open the jar? do you just turn it right side up and wait a few minutes before opening it?
i just learned that if you want to steam corn on the cob really quickly you can wrap each cob in a wet paper towel and put it in the microwave for 60 seconds (each)...delicious steamed corn without any cleanup! (i make corn on the cob weekly during the summer to chop up and put in my salads so this is a big time saver for me!)

If you have a stuck 3M hook, use a hair dryer to loosen it. Aim the blow dryer at the sticky part and pull up on whatever piece is available for you to grab, no matter how small. Keep pulling and blowing and it will eventually come off.
I did this on a 3M sticker that was stuck on my storm door and it worked!

@Pirouette: yep it's such a good trick! I usually am just careful when I open it and it doesn't spill.

@fert: Ha, my husband just sticks the whole thing in his mouth and pulls it out clean. I pick it apart like it has cooties.
And we have an awful time with sugar ants at work, and it turns out that mixing borax with jelly gets rid of them like no other. It'll keep them away for months.

My favorite trick I learned on Pinterest is using a razor to get pills off of coats, pants, pillow, couches, etc! I have a fabric couch that gets pilled & I shave it all the time!

This thread might be dead, but I just had my mind blown when a friend showed me how to properly dispense a tic tac. I honestly did not know there was a "right way" to do it.
