DH and I either go on cruises, or stay in a hotel when we travel. We are interested in a resort vacation next year. We live in DC, and are open to travel. What is the best most favorite resort you've ever been to!?!

Dreams Puerta Vallarta. Especially in October, perfect weather and they release sea turtles every day!

Any of the Couples resorts in Jamaica! It was beautiful, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was awesome!

Couples in Jamaica. We went to Couples Tower Isle on our honeymoon, and it was by far the best vacation I have ever been on.

I should add that the Turkish Lira has dropped considerably, so there should be some serious deals to be had right now.

Sugar Beach (formerly Jalousie Plantation) in St. Lucia. The resort is made up of private villas perched on a mountain overlooking the ocean each with their own private plunge pools.

We went to Ladera in St. Lucia for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it!! It's not on the beach--it's perched in between the Pitons--but they have beach privileges at a few other resorts so you can go to different beaches if you want. The food was amazing! All of the rooms have a wall open to the outside and their own little private pools.

Singita Sabi Sands in South Africa. Hands down the best place we have ever been, and best place we may ever go (unless we go to another singita resort, which I desperately want to do!).

Hands down the intercontinental thalasso spa in Bora Bora - there are no words! Will definitely be going back!!

I'm with @MrsTal! We stayed at Couples Tower Isle for our honeymoon and it was AMAZING. And we'll never go non-all-inclusive again. It's so nice to just eat or drink what you want and never worry about it costing extra.

Another for Couples! We went to Tower Isle on our honeymoon and loved it!
I also liked the Dreams/Secrets brand. For me the difference is that Couples has amazing service and Dreams/Secrets is a little more romantic (I will be honest though that we had a little trouble with service at Dreams though!).

I like small with top notch service, good food, beautiful beach and no kids (if I don't have mine). This is hands down my favorite place in the world. Capella Ixtapa in Ixtapa/Zihuatenejo Mexico. Went there for my honeymoon over 2 years ago and I'm still not over it. It was the best trip of my life!!!!
