It took me a really long time to get into sushi (my parents ate it growing up but I never did). Then I went to an awesome sushi place where I tried a spicy scallop roll and never looked back.
My favorite sushi though hands down is uni (sea urchin)! soooo good.

Favorite things I look for in rolls are shrimp tempura, eel sauce, spicy mayo and roe, plus lots of raw fish on top.

I don't eat fish but I love sweet potato tempura rolls and i used to get some kind of spicy plum roll that was amazing but the restaurant closed and I've never been able to find another place that had it.

If I had to choose a favorite roll, it would be the Rainbow Roll (although I know all places have their own names, but this one seems pretty common...)
I prefer sashimi though - love salmon and yellow tail the most.

I've never graduated past spicy tuna rolls. I love California rolls and pretty much anything with tempura on the inside. I can't do the sashimi rolls with the fish on top.

Toro!!! Also my favorite roll ever is a spicy crab asparagus roll from this tiny hole in the wall sushi place in the LES. Sadly, the last time we went there they had closed down.

@Mrs Spoon: nigiri all the way! Also not a huge fan of rolls, they are just ok. Too much extra fillers getting in the way of the fish!

Vegetarian here, but I still love my sushi. I make my own with avocado, cucumber, purple onion, and seitan "chicken". Or grilled tofu.
