LO 1's favorite questions are:
What is ____ doing?
What is _____ doing now?
Guess what? (But she doesn't follow up with anything after that!)

Currently, his fave thing to say is "Hey, what are you doing?!" and then he will often answer the question
grapefruit / 4817 posts
"What's that noise?" I don't know why he's so caught up about any kind of noise.
apricot / 431 posts
When my husband & I are talking she constantly comes up to us and says "what are you guys talking about?"
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@autumnlove: haha - same!
My LO always says "what's he/she doing???" All.the.freaking.time.
Also "What's he/she say?"
pomegranate / 3388 posts
What's that?
What's he/she doing?
...and lately, while we're reading her Animal 123 book, "What's that number?"
The last one warms my heart. My work is highly quantitative, and I am so excited to see DD getting interested in reading her numbers, as well as her letters!
pomegranate / 3706 posts
@BananaPancakes: mine too- always, "what's that sound?"
Also: "who's that girl/ boy?" "What's it taste like?" "Why?" "What's that spell?" And any time she hears a new word: "what's (word) mean?"
She pretty much never stops asking questions!

What's THAT?
Where'd s/he go?
Where Daddy go?
Where Mama go?
Outside?

"More what?"
He says "more, please" and then follows it up with "more what?" which is what D and I might have asked.
grapefruit / 4669 posts
Mine mainly just gives commands...good times! She does say Dada? All the time, I tell her he's at work, she asks again, I tell her he's at work...repeat with grandparents or anyone whose name she knows. Same with TV shows- Elmo? Abby? Thomas? Even if they only leave the screen for 30 seconds.

"Can I look in the box?"
The "box" is his container of rewards, it has all kinds of goodies in it.
apricot / 452 posts
"What's that?", (like @pregnantbee he usually knows the answer) but his favorite time to ask is when we're in the car and I'm driving (and he's rear-facing), meaning I have no idea what he's looking at. Ha.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
Why?
What's that?
Is Sofia on? (as in I want to watch Princess Sofia)
Where's the chu chu train? (no matter where we are, she will ask to see a train)
pineapple / 12526 posts
"Please can I have a show?" We don't watch lots of tv and don't have cable, but she's always asking.
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
What color/letter is this?
Even though she knows the color!
pomelo / 5866 posts
My 3 year just asked what does the WORD 'that' mean? Stumped me for a bit.
pomegranate / 3127 posts
@808love: haha yes, how do you explain that?
DS goes "ti?" when he wants to ask "what's that?" And if you don't answer he just keeps asking... "ti? TI? TIIIII?!"
watermelon / 14467 posts
"Bo?" (Book?) It's adorable. She'll hand us a book and try to climb in our laps (if we're on the couch).

@Mama Bird: I like that you cracked your LO's baby code. Cute! Oh and I told her 'that' means the thing you are talking about. She seemed ok with THAT.

Sounds like a lot of variants on "What's that?"
My one-year-old is the same way and her version is "Dat?" while pointing at things all. day. long.

"Can you read this for me?"
And not just books. Milk cartons, mailers, the back of my tampons box. Anything with words.

Where's Boppy? We're pacifier weaning this week. It was his first question waking up this morning.
