When I was looking for something lightweight that also supported LO in the right position and didn't hurt my back my research brought me to the Tula. I love it. Does the baby store allow you to try on the carriers? Because if they do, then you could try the ones they have and see which works better for you.

I love my k'tan right now for LO (15 weeks) and have been using it with her since birth. I also have the beco gemini, similar to the ergo, and like that but not as much as the k'tan right now. I think the k'tan breeze is supposed to be better for hot weather - we do get warm in the regular k'tan.

If I had it to do over again I would just buy a woven wrap and learn to use it. Haven't worked that one into the budget just yet.

@MrsB2012: Idk anything about wraps.. haven't ventured that way yet. Our ring sling has been pretty versatile though & very comfortable. I wear P on my back with it alot as well.

Like mrsjazz suggested, maybe you have a store around you that carries some so you can try them?..

For me I really liked how secure my LO felt in a wrap. We had a moby but I wish I had done the Boba. There are praises sung for the K'tan too.

I used the Ergo from about 12 weeks to 12 months and while I didn't love it, I didn't hate it.

At 12 months I bought a Beco Soliel and I could not be happier! I drool over the Tula too.

I would suggest Ktan since your baby is small. The Ergo is not good for little babies unless you use the infant insert but that thing is HOT.

I have a Beco Gemini and love it. At 5 weeks I put DD and vacuumed, did dishes and took out the trash and she was so comfy and slept the whole time. And it was comfy for me tell, my back didn't hurt or anything afterwards. I can also carry my 16 month old in it as well

Are there any baby wearing groups near you?sometimes they have rental programs. I love my boba over ergo- it doesn't need a separate insert for newborns and is super comfy.

We started with the Boba Wrap and then transitioned to the Boba 3G...loved them both!

I really LOVED my K'tan for the first 5 months of K's life. It was truly a lifesaver. It wasn't as hot as the Ergo with the infant insert. Though I really do love the Ergo with the infant insert too. I thought it was more support for her head and neck when she was tiny. I think between 4-5 months was an awkard in-between stage, so we didn't use the Ergo then, and only used the K'tan. Now I mainly use the Ergo, but the K'tan is great in a pinch at home. I had originally wanted a Beco, but now I love the functions of the Ergo that the Beco didn't have (hood and pockets). I use both all.the.time.

LOVE our boba 3g! used it from newborn to now and will continue to use it. the only thing i'm looking for now is something with a hip carry and easy to throw on and off, maybe a ring sling?

@MrsB2012: what kind of linen wrap do you have? Why don't you like it? If it's a woven wrap you should be able to comfortably wear your baby in it for extended periods of time and it would last you through toddlerhood.

My favorite carrier when W was itty bitty was either a ring sling or a babyhawk mei tai though, if you've truly given up on your linen wrap.

I've always liked mei tais better than soft structured carriers though, I find them easier to get a good fit in, especially with tiny babies.

@MrsB2012: I think beco gemini is more like $150 on amazon in the US. Certain comes it designs are more but that's really expensive!
