We bought an inexpensive leather sofa so it could withstand the cats and kids and we wouldn't care if it got ruined. Previously we had a lovely linen colored sectional, which I loved. But alas our cat peed on it and there was no way to really get it clean!

In our living room we have a matching sofa/loveseat set that's nice leather. Upstairs in our loft we have a microfiber sectional. The loft is going to become a play room so the big sectional is going to be replaces with a smaller sleeper sofa since we expect to have more guests visiting once baby gets here.

Um...hand-me-down. It belonged to DH's roommate in college. The roommates left the couches when he moved out. And then they came to our apartment when DH and I first moved in together. I'm so ready for some new couches. The ones we have are old and gross.

We have a cheap Ikea fake leather sofa, it's really low to the ground, and very modern looking. I hate it.....it's very uncomfortable....buuuutt we got that, coffee table, and 2 end tables (all matching) for $200 off Craigslist. I love our tables, but our couch sucks. It's not in our budget to replace it yet, so we make due!

A microfiber sectional. We got it when we bought the house and it's pretty cheap and falling apart already. I want a new one. It's just not a high priority right now.

@highwire: Ditto!!!! Hand-me-down here too and, as much as I appreciate it and know it's not in the budget to get a new one right now, I really hate them. It's a sofa/loveseat set.

It's grey fabric. It's held up well with the dogs. We used to have a microfiber one, but I didn't like it.

We have a felt material loveseat. The dog is pretty good about not peeing in the couch. Can't say the same about our rugs.

We have a leather living room set. No pets here, but I will be curious to see how it withstands baby! I kind of wish we had gotten something longer, it is a little too short for DH to lay on comfortably...but his expensive taste required leather...grr...

We have two bonded leather couches with recliners. I don't love them, they are very manly and kind of dated looking. Days before I gave birth we still didn't have anything and in desperation and tiredness DH won. They've been great for a kid so far, it's so nice to be able to wipe off pee, poo, barf, milk, snot, you name it. And because I don't love them, I won't feel bad when they need to go. I have future dreams of grey leather, tufting, and nailhead trim when kids are all grown.

We have one ginormous microfiber couch and one large chair that is also microfiber. I love them! They're overstuffed and so comfy and easy to clean!!

We have leather sofa and chair that are recliners downstairs that are pretty nice, upstairs we have hand me down Sklar Peplar sofa and oversized chair that are super comfy but the dogs have ruined with their hair (since they're fabric instead of leather). Some day I hope to replace them but right now it's not a priority.

We have a hand-me-down blue velour-ish thing...its comfy, but pretty hideous. We're buying a leather sectional with a lounge-y thing from our friends - they're moving back to Australia and can't take their stuff with them. Can't wait!

We have a leather sofa in our living room - great for dogs and babies. We had a microfiber sofa previously, but it was impossible to keep clean due to dog fur. Microfiber is like a magnet for boxer fur.

We just ordered a new sectional for our new place. It's light grey, so it will be interesting to see how it holds up with a baby and dog. I wanted leather but hubs isn't a fan of leather furniture.

we have a corduroy fabric oversized sofa/loveseat/chair set. we keep the dogs off them and they look brand new even though we've had them for over two years now. we'll see how we once LO is here~

We don't have a sofa - just a "chair and a half" and oversized leather chair set from Pottery Barn. Both are nice leather and super comfy!

After trying to clean a fabric sofa with all the fur, we got an inexpensive bonded leather sofa. I love being able to just wipe it clean!

We have a bonded leather sectional in our family room. I love it since we have a black Lab who sheds like crazy and refuses to stay off the furniture. There is a taupe-colored fabric couch and loveseat in our living room that I have to keep loaded with boxses to keep him off of!

We have a medium brown microfiber set. A large couch and a loveseat with a center console, and both sides recline. We love that it has cupholders, LOL!
