we don't normally buy bottled water. we drink tap water but our pur got broken so i need a new water filter.
what kind do you have? why did you pick it? pur? brita? zero? mavea? other suggestions?

We just have a brita purple jug thing for the fridge. But I hate using it so I just go risky with tap water.

We live in an apartment so I don't have anything for the faucet (and our fridge doesn't have a water dispenser in it), so we use a Brita pitcher and it works for us!

@owlmom: i wish our fridge had a water connection, the stupid thing can't even make an ice cube! =( it's a nice fridge, a big stainless LG, but the lack of water/ ice makes me crazy!
@anonysquire: haha, i am not sure i consider tap water in most areas of the US 'dangerous', but we get orange stains in the dishwasher from the water (i've been told it's hard water, but what do i know?!) so i figure it's better if we filter it, but not a critical situation =)
@Snapdragon: i like the pitcher or whatever the larger ones are called! i don't want one on our faucet either.

@mrs. bird: I was being sarcastic lol. Although my neighbor came over in the summer and told me to not drink tap water because she filled her sink with water and the next day it was moldy. But I still drink it, I like it!

We have a Pur one that is attached to our kitchen faucet.

we use a few sticks of charcoal. it's called kishu binchotan or activated charcoal. you stick it in your water pitcher and it filters the water. it's basically the same charcoal that they use in brita or pur filters, but without the plastic casing.
