We are in the market for a king size mattress (and new bed - yay!). What did you buy? Do you like it? Where should I start looking/researching?
Thanks in advance!

We bought a temperpedic last year. Not the cheapest option but super comfortable and they do last for a long time.

We have one from a local mattress store. Just a typical springform and we're not fans. Our problem is DH likes it a lot firmer than I do.

We have a Tempurpedic rhapsody.
I like it a lot and find myself missing it when we travel. It's a touch firmer than I originally preferred, but I am finding that I like that now.

We bought a Tempur Pedic a few years ago and I LOVE it. I like a firm mattress, and we switched from a pillow top that had started to sink in and so glad we made the change.

Another vote for temper pedic. Expensive but I feel like a good mattress makes such a difference.

Organic latex. One of the best things that ever happened!
No chemicals, no box spring, no yucky dust mites. Externally grateful! 20 year warranty, customizable.

I work for Serta- I can make some recommendations if you have an idea of what kind of mattress you are looking for.

We just went through this since we wanted to upgrade from a queen to a king.
There are a slew of new foam mattress companies where you can order online and have up to 100 days to return the mattress at no cost. Many of the brands are reviewed here: http://sleepopolis-mattress-reviews.com/
This fall, we tried a YogaBed -- too hot for me due to the memory foam, too soft for my husband -- and switched to a Tuft & Needle. My husband would still prefer something firmer, but we stopped by the Helix showroom on Saturday and their firmest mattress is still less firm than the Tuft & Needle. I think we are going to keep the Tuft & Needle as a result.

Sleep Number....we got it when I was 4.5 months pregnant and it's worth every penny...especially if you and your SO have different preferences on firmness. It was awesome while pregnant because I could change it every night based on how I was feeling.

Like @ElbieKay, we bought our mattresses online and I highly recommend it - we got one Casper for us and a Tuft and Needle for LO. I think the Tuft and Needle ones are less expensive and just as good as Casper. They both have great customer service.

We have a Stearns and Foster from Costco. It was super affordable for a Cal King - like $1500. Like most things at Costco it was a middle of the road softness, which worked for us because I would have gone for something slightly firmer and DH likes soft mattresses. But because it had a memory foam top, it was squishy enough for him and its firm enough for me. We bought our bed from Bassett Furniture - again, very affordable pricing. We got a wood bed in a discontinued finish for $699 during one of their sales, with delivery and set up included.
