I don't know if you've heard about this around the world but, here in the UK, we've been getting our knickers in a twist about the discovery of horse meat in a large proportion of our processed beef products eg meatballs.

Anyway, this got DH and I to thinking - what does horse meat really taste like?? So.... we bought some!! And while we were at it, we bought some llama burgers, kangaroo burgers and zebra sausages plus elk goulash and reindeer curry ready meals!!

Our friends were pretty freaked out - but we figured that these meats are eaten in other countries around the world, why not try them?! So far, we've eaten the reindeer curry (tasted like venison), the kangaroo (was quite beefy) and the llama (tasted similar to lamb).

We mainly eat the usual chicken, turkey, beef, pork and lamb and, sometimes, duck and venison. I've also tried rabbit, goose and goat.

What meats have you tried? Frogs legs? Snails? Do you eat any "alternative" meats regularly?
