Our son was 2.5 yo and we did a variation of the 3 day method. He went bottomless at home for a weekend, and figured out pee the first day. I sent him to school in underwear after that and he only had 2 accidents the whole week.

We just potty trained last week (almost 28 months) and it's gone really well! We had him in undies/pantsless the first couple of days. But we still ran errands and such, 1-2 hour outings. He had a couple of accidents the first couple of days, but he's done well on both the big potty with ring, his own potty, and at a Target bathroom!

The first couple of days we just made sure to ask him every 30 min - 1 hour if needed to go. Now he just tells us. If he's pantsless (like last night before bedtime) he'll just go sit on the potty as he's telling us peepee.... or he'll let us know since he still needs help pulling down his underwear.

We have him in training pants for his nap and overnight. He's had dry pants overnight and during nap, or sometimes wet. But he goes first thing in the morning regardless. He's gone #2 a handful of times and once in his training pants.

It went MUCH easier than what I had thought in my head.
