@winniebee: totally agree! I would choose May for the weather here in NewEngland. August was too hot with DS and October is nice, so far, but I know the winter is going to be long and hard on DS that we won't be able to get out quite as much with a new baby.

June. Right when I'm due! It's already the best month of the year since it's my birth month and all

Really - anytime avoiding major holidays is good by me. I just wanted to avoid a Nov/Dec/early Jan baby. I'm quite happy with my June due date!

Oh - and I love how April and May are leading the poll (they are mine and DH's birth months).

I'm due in late Feb and that is pretty great because there are no Feb b days in our immediate family and it works well with my maternity leave/summer break. Early March would work, too, but that's when my bday is.

March! That way I have off 6 months before the next school year. After LO1, I think 6 months is how much time I would ideally have at home. Looks like I have to wait until March 2016 if I want that to happen.

I'm a January baby and hated it. I live in New England, so I almost always had to cancel birthday parties due to snow storms and usually had the flu! DH is April, which is a good month. I chose May, though - it's our wedding anniversary, and I've always liked it for some reason. Although as of today, I'm currently looking at the end of June

September because I am a teacher so with my year long mat leave plus the summer I would get 14 months off. Also, towards the end of my mat leave when LO is more active, it would be summer.

I think May would be nice. Then I wouldn't have to be pregnant during the summer and it wouldn't be flu season when the baby was teeny.

    I would choose September.
I'm in NZ and its coming into spring at that time.
Our son was born in June, which we wanted due to the school system here in New Zealand. Children start school on the day (or nearest) to their 5th birthday. If they start school earlier than April/May then that year is considered their first year and they become year 2 the following year. But if they are born after that, they have that year as year 0 and the next year as year 1. We really wanted him to have that extra time at school.
June was great with our son but a bit cold as its the middle of winter.
We were so lucky that we had a beautiful day for his 1st birthday and ended up having a party outside for him, but we can't guarantee that every year so I think a spring baby next time would be nice

    September or April.

My current baby is September. We are a mixed Kiwi-American family. It means she will be amongst the older ones in the class regardless of where we live (we may move back to NZ - undecided at this stage), because here the cutoff is September first, and, as @snickers mentioned, in Nz April/May is the cutoff (it is more flexible there though).

The downside of a September baby here in the US is that she is at her most vulnerable during peak flu season, which I hate.

April would probably be my choice for #2 if it is born here, because I hoep to be back teachign by then, and it enables me the longest maternity leave, plus there is far nice weather for walks etc, and far less illness.

I voted June. I really didn't mind an end of Feb baby though.

I am September and liked it except for the issues with school/grades. I had to be held back due to the Sept. 1st rule in my state and I did not like that.

Fall or summer. DD was born late June and it was perfect because it so sunny and it didn't get that hot that year. Winter's are so ridiculously dry here and I would absolutely hate having to deal with newborn skin issues during the darkest, coldest months. I think I want a September baby (my birth month).

I voted February (at least in CA) because of the weather and it's not really a busy month. I liked being pregnant in winter, then once I gave birth the weather started getting really nice again and it was nice to stroll around with a newborn while on maternity leave for the months of March-June. I'd be happy with anything the first 6 months of the year though!

I would avoid Sept-Dec not only bc of back-to-school frenzy and holidays, but also because I wouldn't want to deal with school cut-offs. The cut-off here is Sept 1st.

I voted for November for a dumb reason. Between all the birthdays in my family (DS#2 is December, DH is January, DS#1 is February, DD is March, and I'm April) I would want our next baby to be November or May. I would rather November

February because it's my off season, mine and LO's birthdays are in January already.

Early May, since I already have an April baby and the second one is due in January. May also means one is mainly pregnant in the colder season which is a big plus!
