I usually use a Boppy and have him lying in a cradle hold position. I like it because it frees up my hands.

@mrskc: Football. I have a pillow behind my back and one lying flat on the side the LO is nursing from. I lay her flat on the pillow and then sit her up by pushing her shoulders upright with the hand on the side Im nursing from and do the c hold of my boob with the other. Then she latches and thats it. I can sit comfortably using this hold. My question to you is how you do the side lying position in bed. I think I read somewhere that you had just mastered it. Would love to know details if you have a chance!

I used a pillow to bring my baby up at level with my breast, and propped my feet up. Anything to keep from hunching over?

I use the boppy with a pillow behind my back and another pillow under my arm. I almost always do cradle, but will occasionally do football.

@mrskc: If he's nursing on my left, I have his head in the elbow of my left arm, if you put a pillow underneath your arm on that side that can help as well, then his body is across mine.

My kids would not eat in any other position than the cradle hold. So I'd sit cross-legged and put a boppy on my lap.

In the beginning I use the boppy, and carried her in a cradle hold. But to be honest I never liked breastfeeding on the couch. WHich is why we went out and for the glider. Sometimes i will sit in a way that the arm I am holding the baby with is propped up on the arm rest
