I like the idea of baking pasta... just because you do make a bunch at once, and then dine on leftovers for a while.
Lasagna is tricky though, because our kids prefer not to have their pasta mixed into a big bite (i.e. pasta with cheese, meat, etc. - all in one mouthful). So maybe something simpler might be the way to go. I'd love to try a few more different baked pastas.
What other pastas can you bake? Lasagna, baked ziti... anything else that might work for the kids?
