Christian. We go to an associated gospel church which best reflects our beliefs. I come from a family of atheists.

I grew up in the Lutheran church. DH isn't a fan so much, and we don't like the one by us. So we are in hunt for a new church together. Once R isn't napping during church times. We will probably settle with a Methodist church.

Christian. We go to a Methodist church, but both attended Episcopal dayschools growing up so feel comfortable in that environment as well.

Atheist (humanist).
My parents never Christened (baptised?) my brother and I in the hopes we'd make our own decision. Then they sent us to Church of England Sunday school for years (which we both hated - the teachers could never satisfactorily answer our questions). As a teenager I identified myself as agnostic, and by the time I went to university I was firmly in the atheist camp.
I miss the community aspect of church but that's it. There's a humanist community in Boston that I'd like to become more involved with once LO is here and life is a bit more settled.

Christian. I'm struggling to find a church in my current area, even though there are churches for days.

Religion doesn't play a role in my life, so I guess I would consider myself agnostic. I was raised in a non-religious household and I've never attended church for anything beyond weddings and funerals.

Cradle Catholic -- agree with the dogma, but not all of the doctrine. Loving Pope Francis, like a breath of fresh air

@avivoca: I hope you will be able to find a good community!
I'm Christian; protestant although I feel more non-denominational.

@.twist.: LOL same here (my brother, too)...my parents are kicking themselves for spending all that money on private school.

@avivoca: us too!!! I have one I like but it's a very large church & we aren't finding any one to fellowship with. I feel like going isn't giving us all we need if we don't also have church friends.

I was raised as a Reform Jew, but it was more of a cultural identity than a spiritual emphasis. I don't do much to observe the religion these days. My husband is agnostic. His mother is very into her Seventh Day Adventist church, but neither of us are comfortable with their relatively extreme views.
We were married by a 50-something female hippie rabbi who is a huge Grateful Dead fan, has a young adopted daughter from Guatemala, and became a rabbi about ten years after she married her non-Jewish husband. She let us pick and choose elements for our ceremony, and it worked well for us.
We're not sure yet if/how we will provide religious education to our son. I suspect that we will just celebrate standard family holidays (Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Passover). When he' older, we might hire a private tutor and then take a family vacation to Israel for his Bar Mitzvah. I would like him to understand what it means to be Jewish since that is part of his cultural heritage.

@lawbee11: haha! We didn't go to private, which I'm sure my parents are grateful for now. My older brother is an atheist as well, which I'm sure was a huge influence on my beliefs (since he's 13 years older). I kinda feel bad for my folks because I think they wonder what they did 'wrong' since both their kids turned out to be atheists! Hahaha

Christian - attend First Christian/Disciples of Christ denomination. It's the most open minded/decide for yourself denomination I've ever been a part of!

@looch: A gospel hall is made up of Christians who gather to the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ" — we're non-denominational and fairly traditional. We don't have a head office, but we are loosely affiliated with other similar churches. We're sometimes called "brethren" churches, if you've heard that term before.
