I'm making macarons for Thanksgiving this weekend! I'm planning on making both chocolate and "plain"/vanilla macarons. What should I fill them with? Swiss buttercream or chocolate ganache (white and milk chocolate). What would you like better?

@babycanuck: Yeah they can be tricky, but they're not as hard to make as you may think! I think the most important part is using fresh and high quality ingredients.

i always prefer a non-butter cream filling in my macarons (ganache, fruit jam, etc.). it has a much better texture when you take a bite.

I always choose chocolate
I'm jealous that you can make them. I'm a pretty good baker and I've always failed at macaroons. My cousin is apparently good at them so I need to head to the east coast sometime so she can teach me.

I'm a fan of lemon curd or any type of fruit/jam. Ooh or salted caramel....

I'm with @norcalwayfarer: on this, perhaps something lemony or raspberry jam-ish.
