Let's say speaking realistically.
For me it would be to have a Korean market nearby. We eat a lot of Korean food but I have to travel to get to the Korean market, and then either carry a lot of food home or spend a lot on a cab.
What about you?

@Mrs. Bee: ditto on the Korean market! Our closest one is about a 30 min drive away, which honestly isn't bad considering we're in the suburbs with a big car. But the trips there end up being full day excursions with the whole family. I wish I could pop out and pick something up on my way home from work or something.

-Having a shorter commute

My 5 yr old STTN - I am so exhausted these days and its effecting every aspect of my life!

Having a family member nearby who could babysit. My BIL lives close but he is younger and single and not quite up for babysitting an infant. If either of our parents, or a sister, were close it would be so much easier. But that's not really a small change, is it?
In that case, I would like a Trader Joe's closer. But I'm being greedy since we have a small fancy grocery store a few blocks away and a Stop and Shop a little over a half mile away.

It'd be nice if winter was just a little shorter here lol. I suppose I could move, but I like it here overall!

LO deciding tantrums are stupid and stop doing them! ha
Woking 2 less hours a day so I could have that time with my child and at home.

@Mrs. Champagne: Dream on. But me too lol
I'd say if my parents lived close. Or if I had another job (does that count as a small change?)

Owning our own home and a pay increase. I know it's kind of big things but it would make a difference!

@Mae: hahaha I know. It's my current pet peeve. I think they are losing their winter coats!

Oh! Actually I would say the most amazing thing would be a husband that works traditional hours so we could utilize a daycare. Right now he works three 12-14 hour days and one 8 hour day, and so we haven't been able to put J in daycare because a couple nights we are both gone in the evenings.

If my DD slept through the night. Or even just woke up once instead of every 2 hours. And if we had a third bedroom and a master bath.

For us is probably location too. We love our neighborhood but in order to afford a decent house and school district we are further from my parents and from our church the I would like.

@autumnlove: Same! Hope we can get one starting over the summer...
Also, a really great indoor playground that was close by. The ones by us are too big for LO, and it would have helped with this dreadful winter!

If my neighborhood had a playground and if I could order my groceries online and have them delivered to me.

@Foodnerd81: same...would love a family member close by to watch LO once in a while. We have a family friend who will watch her (who we trust completely) but she's a young single gal and I hate to ask her because I want her to go out and have a social life.

Getting help with cleaning would help tremendously; I struggle so much to keep up with cleaning our home. It was fine when we lived in a smaller place but it just never ends here.
@Mrs. Bee: @mrs. wagon: Believe it or not, that was one of our criteria in choosing a home! We put it on a map along with certain other places we wanted to be close to and then only looked at houses within a certain radius.

-No longer having cats
-LO sleeping in her OWN bed at night
-not having a 15-20 minute walk to child care
The child care situation is the only thing that probably won't change for at least another year so I've got to suck that part up.

@avivoca: No grocery stores near you offer that service? I didn't think any of ours did and was surprised when I looked into it and found that several do! And we don't live in an area where I would think there would be high demand for it.

@Mrs. Pen: Hahaha. Um, those are not small changes! I would love for those things, too!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@IRunForFun: No, there is only one grocery store that does and I live about three miles outside their delivery area, so it would cost a lot more for them to deliver to me. I do get my milk delivered through one service and am looking into getting my produce delivered through another so all I'd really need to get at the store would be dry goods.

Having my parents move down here. Honestly, once my mom retires... I think I can talk them into it!

@yerpie110: nice, ugh I don't think my DH will ever be on board!
coconut / 8475 posts
@whenoceansrise: seriously
I had to think long and hard about this one because I know something is missing from my lie but don't know what. I think it really is this:
1- I want DH to go to sleep earlier. I always stay up late with him out of tradition, but it is KILLING ME. We don't get to sleep until midnight because he is a total night-owl. And then we don't actually sleep until like...12:45. I can't deal with it.

An off-street parking spot (we live in the city)
A grocery store and pharmacy within walking distance
LO sleeping better
If our cats stopped fighting with each other!

@Mrs. Bee: could you get a little hand cart, or use a rolling suitcase to more easily carry groceries without paying for a cab?
I think having a good friend closer to us would be a biggie for my mental health.
A deep housecleaning and/or a yard service would be amazing too. We have a big lot and it's wild, it stresses me out more than it should!
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@MerryC: yes, I had a cart when I lived in Hoboken. People made fun of me all the time, but whatever, i didn't have a car!
One thing that would make my life easier is having a uniform to wear to work, like scrubs, omg. I would LOVE that, in an office, lmao.
honeydew / 7091 posts
A maid service would be amazing, but that's unrealistic because we would never pay for it
A little more realistic would be my parents moving to be by us. They really really want to, but they need to be around for my sister to help support my nephew. Hopefully when he's older they'll be able to move. I've tried convincing my sister that she wants to live in the midwest, but she's not buying it... haha!
