Just read something about Speakerboxx/The Love Below turning 10. Outkast definitely takes me right back to sophomore year of college!

Destiny's Child - Independent Women. I remember that being #1 for months in my grad year (2001)
And college I have to think "Hey Ya" by Outkast.

@Sapphiresun: I went to a college FB game this year and they are still playing Hey Ya. I'm like what on earth?
Maybe it is old school now....

Hmm...The Fray got really popular in HS. So did Maroon 5 & Black Eyed Peas. I think all their songs of that time early 2000s (I graduated in 2007).
One song I can remember REALLY well was SUMMER LOVE by JT:)
Also, Time of my Life by Green Day was our gradation commencement song.
In college I listened to a lot of Kanye & Justin Nuzuka...and probably some Colbie Calait

@CupQuakeWalk: ugh, the fray. In graduate school (me=old), some dude had that as his alarm so I had to hear it every morning.

In my last year of high school, everyone was singing (or making fun of) "I Want It That Way". Can you believe that was 15 years ago!? I feel old.

@MrsH: I don't remember when that was for me, but that song was EVERYWHERE!
So was 50 cent's "In Da Club". Eveywhere I went it's "go shortie, it's your birthday..."

I dated a frat boy in college & my BFF and I used to go to every party. His roommate was in charge of music, so we snuck in their room and put "yeah!" On the playlist like 5 times.. A few times in a row lol I thought he was going to kill us!

Also Beyoncé, Crazy in Love. Massive college dance staple!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: LOVE IT! I got so tired of DH (then just BF) doing a lil Jon impersonation. In fact just talking about this thread with him has created a monster in our house!

Senior year was totally R. Kelly Ignition, 50 Cent In Da Club, and Sean Paul Get Busy. Freshman year of college was Seniorita by JT and that Nina Sky (i think) Uh Oh song, and Yeah by Usher.

@mrs. bird: Haha, our pep band director tried to be very hip, so we played Stacey's Mom, Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Seven Nation Army for halftime. And Hey Ya, but before it was old school. Lol. So many bass lines I will never be able to forget.

@meganmp: oh no! That song was the WORST!
@Greentea: baha!! Yes it was also a problem for me having 24/7 access to breakfast foods and alcohol.
....Also on the other side of the musical coin, DCFC's "transatlanticism" is ten this year, that was huge with the hipsters in my college days. Also Postal Service.
