I go through spells where I listen to the same song or artist for a few days straight.
Right now i'm on a Lily & Madeline kick. I wish they had more songs!
What about you? What song/artist are you into these days?

I heard Bohemian Rhapsody while driving to work this morning and decided that I don't know nearly enough of the words. So I'm planning to play it all during lunch hour when my officemate is gone.

@tororojo: OMG. I love Queen. loooooove.
Pretty much anything Lana Del Rey is on repeat constantly in my car.

Don't know if you guys have ever heard of her, but I play Alice Smith all the time! I've been playing her song Woodstock all morning:

@tororojo: I always think I know all the words to Bohemian Rhapsody until I try to sing it at karaoke.

@.twist.: Glad you like it. She's amazing live. DH and I danced to her song "Dream" at our wedding.

I never get tired of "Electric Feel" by MGMT. LO used to dance in my belly to it, and now we dance to it all the time.

@mrsjazz: That was great!! Do you have any more music recs for me? I dig your style...

@mrbee: I need some new music recommendations myself! Most of my music is a couple of years old, but as for newer, more mainstream folks I do like Esperanza Spaulding and Janelle Monae. I also like Emily King, she's got a beautiful voice.
ETA: Do you like Kimbra?

@mrsjazz: Alice Smith is great! Can't believe how few plays her songs have on YouTube though... it's so shocking to me! How could she not be huge?

@tororojo: I use YT to learn the lyrics to songs all the time, just search "bohemian rhapsody lyrics" and they'll be some karaoke style versions with the lyrics on the screen.

@mrsjazz: That's a good idea, maybe I will have a karaoke party before DH gets home tonight! Or after...

@mrbee: I don't know how they don't have more plays. She just finished up a Kickstarter campaign to fund her 2nd album because of issues with her last label.
If you get the chance, go see her live! She has 3 shows coming up.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@mrsjazz: Yah her campaign didn't raise her ultimate goal though! Shocking to me... although she kind of set up crappy rewards for the higher prices.
I will definitely look into going to one of her shows!

I've been downloading some of the songs from the Nashville soundtrack (don't laugh, the songs are really good!) and playing them on repeat a lot.

I've been listening to Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery a lot lately.
@fussygal: I'm so impressed with the songs from the show!

@tororojo: My mom is a huge Queen fan, so growing up, my sister and I worshipped this song. I don't know why it called to us so, but I do know every word and can go years without hearing it and still remember them all. Must just be ingrained from childhood.
I've been listening to Old Crow Medicine Show's song Wagon Wheel on replay. It's old, but I have been obsessed with Americana music for the past few months. First Aid Kit's song Emmylou has been stuck in my head recently, too. Something about banjos has been haunting me lately.
