When did you start establishing a bedtime for your LO, and what time was it?
DD is 6 weeks old and she'll often doze a little between her evening feedings but we don't usually put her down in her bassinet until she eats around 9-10. What did you do for your LO when they were tiny?

It was closer to midnight at that age. I was losing my mind. By 12 weeks, she settled into a 6:30-7:00 bedtime.

I'm a night owl, and so is my daughter. When she was teeny tiny, I usually nursed her to sleep around 9:30ish, kept her with me in the living room after my husband went to bed, nursed her again when she woke up around 11ish, then put her down in her bassinet in our room when I went to bed around 11:30ish.

Somewhere between 8:30 to 10:30.
Eta: this started around 2.5 months (she's now 3 months).

Right now at 8 weeks it is almost 11. Which is fine for now, but when I go back to work in a couple weeks I really need it to be earlier!

With DD1 it was late, somewhere between 11-midnight until magically one day at 4 months she went down at 8:30. After that it slowly got earlier until she was going at 7:30.
With DD2 it was 10ish until a couple of weeks ago. Now it's 8:30-9. She's 8 weeks!

We following feeding and sleep cues so they go down for the night between 8pm-11pm. The twins don't have to get up for daycare or anything so they wake up between 8am-11am. If they wake later, it means they might get up around 8pm for a feeding.

Our routine is to go up for bath between 6:30-7, then down for bed. I nurse her to sleep. She's usually asleep by 8-8:30. She STTN. She's 20 weeks, and this has been the routine since she was about 5 weeks.

Around 10 for DD1 until 12 weeks or so and it switched to around 8. DD2 is 5 weeks and goes around 9-10.

Since about 4 weeks my son has fallen asleep between 7:30 and 8:30 more or less regularly. Up until this week he's slept in our arms until 9ish, when we all go upstairs, I nurse him, and put him into his bassinet. For the last two days we've been working on having him fall asleep on us and then putting him right into his bassinet - having that hour with my husband with no kids feels life changing!

With M she was down at 7:30 around 3 months. H turned 4 months today and we've been doing 8/8:30 for the last week or so. He started going down at 9:30/10 around 8 weeks.

Ok...this is asking me feel better! We're following eating & sleep cues too, but I was starting to wonder if we were inadvertently keeping her up too late. It feels early to enforce a routine, though...every day is still a little different!

@atoz: I started really setting the 7/7:30pm bedtime around 10 weeks. I realize his evening fussy time was actually him just being tired and wanting to go to bed!

She's only 5 days! So whenever I want to go to bed. Around 10ish if I time it right that she is sleepy.

@erinbaderin: totally agree about the adult time! DH and I sat on the couch last night while LO was in her room. First time we've ever been able to do this! We were mostly watching her on the monitor, but still

@Pachamama: that's what prompted me to ask! She's started to develop a fussy evening hour, but the timing hasn't been quite consistent enough to tell.
@winter_wonder: whenever my husband and I manage to have dinner alone together I think we spend half the time talking about her diapers. Ha! Parenting is so glamorous.

DD is 9 weeks and usually falls asleep in the evenings around 8:30-9, but we keep her downstairs with us until 10-10:30 and then bring her up to the bedroom and nurse her to sleep.

LO2 is 10 weeks and most of the time he doesn't nap in the afternoon so...we'll put him in his crib after his late afternoon feeding and he crashes. We'll get him up 3-4 hours later for another feeding and then he goes to sleep for the night.
If he sleeps well during the day, he's up in the evening with us and we'll put him in his crib after his feeding around 7:30-8:30pm.

Before I came back to work, I'd put her down around 8:30 - 9:00. Now that I'm back at work, we have to leave the house by 5:45, so I have to wake her up by 5:30 if she hasn't woken up on her own. Because of that, I pretty much put her to bed as soon as I get home (around 5:30-6:00) otherwise she screams for a few hours from being overtired before she finally passes out.

Both kids stayed up until 10 or so until somewhere between 4-6 months when bedtime moved between 6 and 7.

@littlebug: I know this post is old but I nurse my 4.5month to sleep and he is waking up every 2.5 hours and won’t fall asleep on his own. Did you have any issues?

@cake2017: I didn't, but I got really lucky with 2 amazing sleepers. Both my kids STTN from 6 weeks on. There are TONS of sleep threads on here, though. I bet you could find some answers or suggestions on them! Good luck!
