afternoon! contractions started out very mildly at around 4ish -- i was skyping with someone from work (as I was working from home until the baby) and remember saying to her I was feeling crampy and they might be contractions! sure enough that was it!

My water broke at 8:30 am and contractions started an hour later. DD was born at 3:15 pm the same day!

@sslm: yes! it started out that way... the only difference is that I would feel the cramps, then it would go away, then it would come back, then go away and that's what made me realize it was contractions! I hadn't had anything like it at all my entire pregnancy

My contractions started at 6:45am. She was born at 7:48pm. I think she picked pretty a pretty good time, nothing in the middle of the night.

I had back cramps that woke me up at 7am (I couldn't sleep through them) that very slowly got more intense and closer together as the day went on, but I didn't feel like I was really in labor until 8-9 that night.

Water broke around 9:15 at night, contractions started sometime after 11

@BelugaBean: That sounds like perfect timing to me! I'm hoping to not be up all through the night in labor.

@sslm: I like to say that she timed it so it was like an extended work day. Contractions didn't start too early in the morning and she was born before it go too late in the evening.

These results are very interesting!! I always assumed I would go into labor in the middle of the night...

My water broke at 11:45pm. I'd been having some back aches leading up to it but no contractions.

@BelugaBean: Yes, that sounds perfect! I would take labor at any time at this point, but with any kind of luck it'll be similar to yours

Late night here! First contraction at 10:30pm, and I knew we were in for a loooong night!

Around noon. I started having mild contractions, then bloody show and mucous plug came out in pieces. Contractions increased in strength all day.

Started when I woke up and lost my mucous plug. Went to my usual prenatal appointment, saying that I'm feeling contractions, and went home and they amped up.

I had a false alarm the day before. Basically had contractions for 2 days & was up both nights. Went to the hospital sat am & he was born just after 5pm the same day.

@wheres_c: That is exactly what happened with me! Well, 3:30 and 6:30
I'm never sure which time is right when I think about labor starting considering I slept through the 3:30-6:30 contractions.
LO was born at 7pm so I had just a bit over 12 hours of labor - it was exactly the timeline I hoped for!

@lindseykaye: exact same timing here. I woke up at 3, thinking is this it? Then figuring even if it was, I would need my sleep.

@wheres_c: yep! And I was still able to doze while using my contraction app until about 8:30. By then I was just too excited to keep quiet and still but once I did get up the contractions amped up pretty quickly.

@sslm: civic! Their labour & delivery is awesome. Maternity, not so much. Don't let them freak you out!

@sera_87: I have a midwife, so hopefully I will only be spending time in L&D and then going home :). Glad to hear you had a decent experience!

@sslm: probably the best course of action. LO screamed the entire second night & dropped 8% of body weight & all they did was push formula. Ugh. I'm definitely going home a day earlier the next time.

@sera_87: Oh yikes!!! That doesn't sound pleasant at all. Yeah, if all goes well we'll be out of there 3 hours after delivering, fingers crossed!
