I am in the process of purging/organizing my home, and I'm not sure what to do with a stack of old CDs! I like/liked them at one point, so I don't really want to get rid of them (sentimental value), but I'm not sure if I'll ever actually listen to the CDs again. Mine are a mix of CDs still in cases, and others that are in binder-style holders.
Do you still have a CD collection, or what did you do with them?!

we have a binder for some at our apt, but dh and I were just looking into this when he was cleaning out his childhood room at his parents' house--he has SOOOOOO many old cds he needs to get rid of! his parents' county has an electronic recycling/trash program, so eventually we'll drive them to the dump there since it's really not good environmentally to put them in the regular trash. there are also similar services where you mail old cds to a facility where they recycle them, but then you have to pay shipping...

Try donating to your local library. And rip the ones you one into mp3s before you do.

@pregnantbee: what program do you use to "rip" the cds to mp3s? I remember doing this in college, but it has been at least 10 yrs since I ripped a cd! Anything besides iTunes? I hate iTunes (I find it complicated, haha)

@Meridian: Totally not an expert. I just use iTunes...Sorry I can't be more help. I bet Google has other recommendations for you.
