What tip or trick that you figured out early on has turned out to be a life saver?
For me, side lying nursing. I had the hospital LC show me how-- like, I laid down in the bed and she positioned the baby just so for me so I knew I had it right. A year later and I still nurse laying down in bed first thing in the morning and I love the snuggles.
Runner ups are bouncing on the exercise ball with the baby- it was amazing in the early days for soothing her, we spent literally hours a day on it, but for a shorter length of time (thank god)-- and learning to wrap the Moby- I don't know how she would have slept without that thing.

We have recited "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" a bajillion times by now. Also, "The Owl and the Pussycat", "Sweet and Lo" by Alfred Lord Tennyson, and "Hope is a Thing with Feathers" are ones we say regularly. Anything with a meter-she likes the rhythm. We also have Goodnight Moon memorized and recite that as a poem, too. They all calm her, it is amazing!
