I personally don't have a smart phone (hopefully soon, though!), but DH has an iPhone 4 and says he'll never get another iphone. I guess he doesn't like the limitations that Apple puts on it.

@Dandelion: I just don't want to pay the extra $20-$30 a month for a data plan! No thank you! The Samsung Galaxy Player works on wifi, so has many of the perks of a smartphone without all the extra costs!

@mrsjyw: @mediagirl: how's the durability of your Galaxys? My friend keeps trying to get me to go for the HTC one bc it has a aluminum case like the iPhones. But the Galaxy takes better pictures which is more important to me.

@regberadaisy: it's fantastic. I have never had a problem with it and it's almost 2 years old. I will probably upgrade to another Galaxy when my plan is up. I have a case on my phone and I (and M) have dropped it a lot.

@regberadaisy: Just because it's not aluminium doesn't mean it's going to break easily. Infact, I see more iPhones with broken screens than Samsung phones with the body/screen broken. IMO it's unreasonable to think a cell phone will last much more than 2 years anyway (because the software gets outdated by then, nothing to do with the hardware), so buy a phone with that in mind.

another galaxy lover here!! @regberadaisy: I have a 'Ballistic' case on mine.... while it's not super adorable (plain pink thing) it's designed to withstand a 6' drop. and has kept my phone in top shape!

No smart phone club! But I envy the smart phones. I just don't truly need one, and since we're on a tight budget, it would be hard to justify the cost.
I'm thinking of trying out Walmart's Straight Talk plan--the have a good range of cell phone options, and it sounds like a good deal.

i was an iphone user for years, and recently tried out the galaxy note 2 on droid. i surprisingly hated it so much, had to switch back to iphone!

DH and I both have the Samsung Galaxy (I've long been an apple stan, so this was a big switch for me), and are eagerly waiting for our upgrade to get the S4.
