I have the Sedu and love it! It's been about 4 years and it still works great! I get my hair cut maybe twice a year, and my hair stylist is impressed at how healthy my hair is everytime.

Did you not like the chi?
I have a Remington frizz therapy and I love it! It was voted best by Allure mag. It is $50 at ulta

@Coco Bee: no! Maybe that its getting old. But it snags and pulls my hair, leaves split ends, and isn't as smooth and straight as I'd like my hair to be!

@mrsaudi: That's freaking awesome! BOOMER SOONER! I'm an OK native and am an OU alumni. I moved to TX (I know, I know) for my job 6 years ago so I always get overly excited when I see someone sporting OU gear.

I've had a babyliss forever. I got it at some point during college and still use it regularly now. That thing's been a trooper

I think this is the straightener I have. Works really well. I used it for 5 years and it got worn out and just bought a new one about a year ago. Love it!

I had a chi and when it died I got another one...actually it didnt "die" I broke the power button on it. I have super thick frizzy hair and I LOVE how it works.

I have a Remington digital heat ceramic flat iron I got at Target for like $20. I love it -- I only really ever straighten my bangs, but I have used it a couple of times to do my whole head and it works great. You can adjust the temp up to 410, which is nice since I don't want to fry my bangs.

I have a crappy Conair that I've had for about 7 years now. Eeek! Time for a new one. I'd like to invest in a nicer one, since the one I have now is a cheepie.

I have a tourmaline t3 wet to dry. I don't use it on wet hair much but it steams your hair and is pretty cool. Works great in regular mode.

I've had the same chi for 7 years. I think it's dulling out (doesn't get as hot) but still works great! Get another one!

I love my Chi, haven't found anything else that straightens as quickly and gets the frizzies out. Mine is about as old as yours and is starting to get a lot of buildup on the plates though, which I never remember to clean off before doing my hair.

I kid you not...the day I responded to this...my chi died! I am so sad. Upset too! My first one lasted like 6 years. I got another and have had that one less than 1 year...with seeing what most have said about Chi's, even though I am upset it died on me so quick I think i will still stick with chi.

I've had the same Chi for about... 5 years now and it still works perfectly. I LOVE it!
I do find that because my hair is so thick, I have to straighten it in layers. Not sure if maybe this is your problem at all or not, but I used to try to just straighten all of it at once and it never would get fully straight. Now I do it in four sections and it comes out great.

i have a GHD from when they started selling at sephora... so 6 years old? it is awesome and worth the $ IMO. it's never snagged my hair, heats up quickly and doesn't damage my hair (i'm also in the 2 cuts/year category) i would definitely buy another one.

@mrskc: This is the one I have and I love it! My sister has had different ones about every year and anytime we are together she is like "Can I use your straightener?!" So I think that means it's awesome if she is asking to use it

I have a Croc, and it is amazzzzing. Really, the best straightener I've ever owned.

I have heard great things about GHD, mentioned by @KGE. I have a T3 an have had it for at least 6 years. I heard of GHD just after I got my T3. My next will likely be a GHD.

I've got a GHD like @kge: and I LOVE it. My hair is ridiculously thick (as in I can barely fit my thumb and forefinger around my pony tail) and the GHD is the only straightener I've used that can actually straighten my hair.
