We have the samsung and really like it!
Had the Motorola first, but it stopped working after a few months which was weird.
I like that the sound lights on the samsung are not as bright as the Motorola. But I liked that the Motorola gave the temp in the room....

the motorola 3.5
echoing @hellobeeboston: this is the 3rd? or 4th return we've had because of the battery issue dying out and/or monitor not charging.
we have an extra camera we use on vacation or keep at my mom's too.
I like everything else about it.

We have a summer infant http://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Touch-Digital-Monitor/dp/B004B762AK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394052749&sr=8-1&keywords=summer+infant+digital+monitor.
We've been using it for two years now without issue. We can travel with it easily and the screen is a good size. The only issues we've had is that the color isn't that great (not a big deal to me) and after two years the video screen doesn't hold a charge for more than a few hours. We keep it on the charger overnight, which isn't great for battery upkeep, but I'm just going to order a new battery.

We have a Motorola and haven't had any problems at all. (son is 17 mos) We love it! I've never used another one so can't compare it to any others, but I love the long battery life during the day without needing to charge, the brightness, the size, everything!

Another vote for the Motorola (haven't had any issues). Love the temperature read and the ability to talk to DD over the monitor (which totally freaks her out). I also like the fact that we will be able to add a second camera when we have #2.
For those who have the Motorola - have you ever been successful at getting the camera to move via the monitor? It seems like it has a scan feature, but I've never figured out how to use it...

@septca: yep we use it all the time to adjust. the camera is mounted to our wall and we accidentally move the angle a lot on the monitor.

@mrsjyw: Looks like it's time for DH to dig out the instruction manual.

@hellobeeboston: Are there any other differences besides the temp? I've been debating between these two!

We have a Levana. Only had it for a few months and it seems pretty good so far.

@spaniellove: I believe the samsung has a bit of a longer range, which was a definite pro.

@hellobeeboston: Good to know. My motorola does not go across my tiny NYC apartment since the walls are so thick so I am returning it. Maybe the samsung would work.

We have the Samsung BabyVIEW and I highly recommend you do NOT get it. It has cut out on us which is obviously a big issue! When I called their customer service, they were extremely rude. We still use it & haven't had issues lately but I can never sleep 100% soundly.

We have Foscam and I like it. I like viewing her on my ipad and iPhone.
