What was easier then you expected it to be?

Breastfeeding. I was prepared for it to be awful but we haven't had any problems.

I love this thread! There are always so many horror stories that it's nice to see the good side.

Sleep training. I thought it was going to SUCK because she would cry and cry during the day. But the first night she cried 30 min, the second 20 min, and hasn't looked back since.

STTN. I was spoiled because LO started sleeping 6-8 hours around 5 weeks old.

Diapering-I thought I would be disgusted, but it's kind of fun! She gets so happy and playful during changes, I love it. I also HATE throw up so I was pretty nervous about that, but even though my child barfs constantly I'm not phased in the slightest. I guess it really is different when it's your child!

Also, losing the baby weight. I expected it to take forever, but I looked pretty much the same as I did before pregnancy and weighed less in under a week. I'm definitely grateful for that one. Crazy!

Night time sleep -- It was still really rough at the beginning, but DD slept through the night starting at 3.5 months, and she never regressed.
Losing the baby weight -- I was a stress case after DD was born. It wasn't very healthy, but all of that anxiety just made the pounds fall off.
Cloth diapering -- ok, actually I thought this one was going to be easy, but so many people tried to tell me that it would be so time consuming and messy and that we would quit after less than a month. I was right, and it was actually SO easy!

Breastfeeding and sleep training. She took to both really well. I also lost the baby weight well although my body was a little bit oddly shaped for awhile (yeah, I know).

I think a lot of things were a bit easier than I thought they would be. The transition to having kids (and the transition from 1 to 2 kids) went well for me. I'm lucky and didn't experience any if the hormonal lows after giving birth, which I know can complicate everything.

We've been very lucky that breastfeeding has been SO EASY for us. So has the transition to solids.
