Especially if it was a planned c-section or induction? I'm trying to figure out if it would be a bad idea to go out for a steak dinner the evening before
With Evan I had Chinese take-out, and regretted it...over and over again, lol.

I had a slice of pizza just after my water broke... I didn't notice any ill effects from it!!

I wanted something filling so I made spaghetti, meatballs, and salad. Then my induction got pushed back by almost 24 hours! The last thing I ate before going in was salad. I would have had a little more if I knew when I was going to be called. I grabbed a cheese stick on the way out the door.

With my second I think I had meatloaf..?
I will say that I made a joke to my OB about setting an alarm to eat right before the cut off.... I didn't follow through and regret it.
I had dinner at six and went to the hospital for my 10am surgery.... And got pushed back until four. I. Was. Starving.
Set an alarm. Have a snack.
With DD1 I ate Sunday night and not again until Tuesday afternoon. My first words after her birth were " can I eat now?"
Eat when you can for the love of God!

With DD I had a burger from our favorite burger place, sweet potato fries and then some chocolate ice cream. I was scheduled to be induced at 6am the next morning - went into labor at 1am.
I didnt puke or anything (I did have a bm on the table) so I am totally fine with my decision.
If I am scheduled for induction again I may go for the same meal - start a tradition?

@lovehoneybee: Bahahaha. Last "meal" was shrimp at a seafood restaurant. But the morning when I went into labor I had a croissant and then some plain toast before heading to the hospital!

I had wings and a Flatbread pizza at BJ's, oh and a pizuki. I went into labor at 1230 that night. I didn't have any I'll effects. I also got to have yogurt, fruit and some cheese at 8 am, tasted really good and I never threw up or really even felt nauseous. Eat whatever sounds good!

I had a PB & jelly sandwich while in labor around 3am.

I don't remember! Probably yogurt. I had gummies with dd right before leaving for the hospital!

Hmmm I don't remember! I knew I was in early labor but we ate whatever we had planned for that night previously.

I had an unplanned and early induction...I know I ate lunch at my dad's office, but I don't remember what I ate! I had a yogurt and granola bar at the hospital before starting cervidil

I had a scheduled C-section and can't remember what I ate to be honest. I know I made an effort to eat something that would keep me full a long time, so not just carbs. I would HIGHLY recommend eating something protein-heavy, as my scheduled section was for around 11am, and it was pushed back several times due to emergencies and LO wasn't born until almost 6pm at night.....and I had not eaten since dinner the night before. Both LO and I were *hangry* at her birth!!!

I had a scheduled induction and we went out for Korean; I didn't have a lot of choices since I had GD so it wasn't like I could pig out on whatever I wanted.
I also didn't want to have to poop a lot so I didn't want to eat a lot, hahaha.

I dont remember what i had for dinner the night before but my water broke at 5am and I forced myself to have a bowl of cereal before going to the hospital at 7. I just wasnt very hungry (at the time). She wasnt born until 11:20pm that night and I was so glad we ordered in Hoagies from a local shop before they closed so I had something so delicious after delivery

Grilled fish, veggies, and french fries. It was okay until I threw it back up during transition.

I would say eat something filling but bland since it will be a while until you eat again but also in case you puke (I did during my C-section). I would do something like chicken Alfredo and salad and bread or meatloaf and mash or some kind of casserole. And if you have a cut off time, yeah eat a PBJ before bed or something.
I had some Jack in a Box meal bc I had a failed induction that turned to a C-section so not ideal. Puking up Diet Coke and fast food was not great. Not the worst thing ever (i.e. Something spicy or ethnic) but not great.

Since my contractions came on quick in the morning, we stopped at a gas station to get a banana for LO #1. I requested a candy bar while in the car with LO #1. The nurses liked that I got my chocolate fix before settling into bed for laboring. So, I ate a candy bar and a banana before not being able to eat until the traditional turkey sandwich postpartum around 7pm.

Truffle fries as an afternoon snack, then labor was starting and I didn't feel like dinner. That was all I had in me to get through the entire night of labor, and it sucked. I was starving, but I couldn't eat.

Breakfast for dinner (pancakes and sausage) the night before my 8 am induction.

It was not planned but still pretty impressive- Thanksgiving dinner! LO was born on Sunday, I was starving by then!!!

We went out to a fancy restaurant and I had fish. I don't remember what sides but I had GD so not a lot of carbs or sweets. My water broke a couple hours later. I had a Starbucks latte on my way to the hospital and then the induction started. No problems.

I cooked lamb chops and ate them on my hands and knees about 30 hours into labor. I think I horrified my doula.
With LO2 I went to the grocery store while I was in early labor and bought EVERYTHING that appealed to me. I don't normally buy a lot of "junk" but I just filled a cart with cookies and ice cream and crap. I ate sooo much.
No regrets with either. My body knew what it wanted.

The night before my induction we went out to our favorite German restaurant. That was SUPPOSED to be my last meal (other than a light breakfast in the morning), but I was starving during my induction so my dr let me eat around 14 hrs into my induction. I had a glorious meal of jello, chicken broth, and cranberry juice. I thought it was the best meal is ever had until I started throwing it all up an hour later!

Man, I can't remember but I know I cooked. I was in the grocery store grabbing some last minute dinner ingredients when I had my first big contraction. Wasn't sure if it was really labor and my contractions were very sporatic (like an hour apart) so I cooked dinner and we ate and watched a movie before we started timing them.

My water broke in the morning so I think I grabbed oatmeal and maybe a banana before heading to the hospital.
I definitely remember that we had spicy Szechuan chinese food the night before. DH and I had joked about getting spicy food to start my labor and apparently it worked.

I can't remember with my first. With my second, I didn't set an alarm to eat and they ended up keeping me there all day, starving, before sending me home at 5pm because there were too many emergencies. You bet I set my alarm for attempt #2. I think I had porridge, jam on toast, yoghurt, cheese... It was about 4am so I wasn't in the mood to cook. I drank Gatorade too.

I wanted something filling and nutritious and would give me energy. I had a PB sandwich, a banana, and a glass of milk. It wasn't my favorite taste-wise, but it was effective!

Pancakes! That's what I wanted for breakfast after my cesarean, too, but I ended up with toast instead.

I had a muffin during labor, but I can't remember my last meal before it started!

I had meatloaf for dinner before my water broke in the middle of the night. I brought crackers with me to the hospital, but couldn't even think about eating during labor.

I went into labor naturally.
LO1 spaghetti, garlic bread, sherbet punch
LO2 hamburger helper chili, saltines, labor cookies, Dr Pepper and milk.

DS: I had an induction, and I can't remember at all what I had the night before. I'm sure we went out to enjoy our "last meal"
DD: I had a scheduled c-section and the night before we went out for Italian. It was delicious haha

Cold pizza from the hospital cafeteria.
I hadn't eaten breakfast that morning before my OB appointment and was sent straight to the hospital for induction. Then they decided to put my on magnesium so absolutely zero food allowed. It was all I could get my hands on at the time to get something in my stomach.
