And did they like it? We are starting solids soon. I have no idea what we are doing but are considering blw.

She had oatmeal... She wasn't too sure what to do and it took a few days before she got the hang of it .
After that we tried bananas, sweet potatoes , pears, peaches and tonight we are trying carrots. She seems to like it all so far!

Mashes sweet potato. She loved it. Ate probably a quarter of a huge one. They're still a favorite food for her.

Green beans with lemon, grabbed off of my MIL's plate.

We tried butternut squash. She hated it. Then we tried a variety of other fruits and vegetables and she hated those. Then we tried oat and even rice cereal- no dice. This was all from months 5-6. Finally I decided to take a break from solids and around 7 months started again with peas and she loved them and now eats and likes a lot of purées and some finger foods at 8.5 months.

Banana. I'll probably start with avocado the second time around. Bananas made DS1 constipated.

We are leaning towards avocado or sweet potato. For those who tried either of those, did you just mash it up really well and let LO try it, or gave it on a spoon or puréed it with breastmilk/formula or what?

We are doing BLW, and LO's first food was some guacamole. We were out for Mexican food and I just put some on my finger. She had tasted things like apple and banana before that, but that was the first food she actually ingested.

Banana, BLW style but with some support from
Mom and Dad because it was so slippery. She loved it! Her absolute favorite though is baked sweet potato fries.

We are going to do avocado, I think! I will purée it with a little formula (not wasting breastmilk when I know she will probably not eat it all!).

We did chickpeas. She was indifferent, but she ate it. She LOVED sweet potatoes, which I just mashed.

Thanks for all the ideas! I would sort of prefer she just stop growing up, so we could just stick with only BFing

@Zbug: I did avocado! She also loves banana. I smashed it up with a fork so it was like a creamy paste and fed her with spoon. They also have mesh nets you can stick a slice in and they gum at it.
