Previously, LO's bedtime was anywhere between 6:45 and 7:30pm. But for a week now (LO is 16 months), she's wide awake at 7, and cries when we try to get her to sleep. Yesterday, DH said, "okay, it's time to go to bed" and LO had a fit!! I thought it was separation anxiety, but maybe it's just that she doesn't want to go to bed yet? She had a 1.5 hour nap that ended at 1:30pm.
She's been falling asleep a little after 8pm, and sleeping until about 7-7:15am. I'm thinking this may be the right bedtime since she's getting a good stretch of sleep, whereas in the past, she'd wake up at 5am if we put her to bed a little later.
What were the signs that it was time to push back your LO's bedtime?
My son (at that age) used to go down at 7:30p and gradually his bedtime started getting later and later until he started to go down at 8:30. And not because we changed it, he just wouldn't go down as quickly as he used to. No matter what time we put him down, he would fall asleep at 8:30. He's 3 now and has a 8:30-9 bedtime because he won't go down any earlier.
