I'm not sure if we will be getting one or not but we usually do. We plan on paying the hospital bill and saving if we get anything back. Not fun, but necessary
If you get a return, what will you do with it? Save? Have fun? Pay off debt?

We expected a refund and we owed a lot last year! We should get a refund this year and it will go back into the house!

We will probably save it. We're saving up for new floors in the kitchen and family room so we may put some of it towards that. I'm not sure if we will get anything, though because we try to make sure the government holds onto as little of our cash as possible throughout the year.

Pay off debt, put some down for DH a new truck, and save the rest!

I'm not sure if we will get a return. If so it will go straight into the savings account we use to pay for IF treatments, vacations, and house projects.

We're getting a pretty decent return. We'll pay off our credit cards, buy plane tickets for a couple of weddings we'll have to travel for, buy some work clothes for me, and put the rest in savings.

@autumnlove: eeeks I hope that's not us. DH started a new job last year so wondering how that will affect things.

We will have a pretty small return, but what we do get will go to debt. We are only a few more months away to paying off our car! I'm anxious to be rid of that bill so that we can start saving for a second car.

We very happily will get double the refund we did last year. (Yeah, I've done my taxes already b/c i'm a money nerd). I've bookmarked 200$ for a camera, and then we are paying off the last of the med bills and stuffing the rest into savings. I can't wait! Our bank accounts will be much happier.

We will be paying our hospital bill for my delivery with it. Our insurance changed with the new year and we are going to be paying a lot more than we anticipated.
The rest will be going into credit cards. Whomp whomp.

I wish I could say I'd use it for clothes, but I'll probably put it into savings.

Savings if we get one. DH started over the weekend and looking like we are breaking even.

We most likely won't get much back so whatever we do will be used to pay stuff off or go into savings. If by some miracle we get a lot back, I want to use it for a weekend trip or toward new carpet.

If we get money back we will pay off some CC debt and maybe go on vacation!

We each get some to do with as we please - some goes into house projects and the rest into our money market account!

File it in a folder.
The refund itself is going to pay off a student loan!! So excited.

I'm not sure yet. I know we should be responsible and pay off a student loan, put it towards a student loan, put it in savings, etc.... But I know we also want to get a small deck put on the house, start to finish our basement, etc. Practicality vs. Wants...

probably buy two convertible car seats and deposit the rest into our regular checking account.
hopefully that added bump will help us get through until I return to work in the fall.

My husband and I usually split our tax return and we each do whatever we want with our half. Knowing DH, he will save his. He's like Scrooge McDuck. I plan to spend my part on our family/work trip to New Orleans in May.

@DillonLion: LOL, yep.
We will probably get a refund this year, as it was our first full year of owning our house and we had a baby. I didn't want to mess with withholdings because LO could possibly have been born in January, so I'm assuming we'll get something back. Whatever it is, we'll put it toward her 529 account.

DH wants to put it toward paying off the house, which is the best thing to do but since we got married by a JP with no actual "wedding" to speak of, I'd like to use it to have one. We'll see.

I hope we get something back this year because we're looking to put our house on the market and upgrade. The return would be helpful in putting down a larger down payment!

We are anticipating a refund this year and it goes directly onto debt.

Probably buy a new fridge with it...... I was hoping to save it for an anniversary trip, but we'll see if the fridge will hold out for a little longer.

Ours should go directly to debt, but it will likely end up in savings for now. We are moving over the summer and may end up needing it.

Just did mine and we're getting a good return. Will use it towards moving costs

We'll be using ours to pay off my invisalign balance and then saving the rest.

We will get some back again. Last year we got over $3000 and we should be about the same this year. We both have education tax credits which is the huge part of it.
We will put it towards our new car loans nd credit card. Yeah debt!
pomegranate / 3643 posts
We usually use it to pay state taxes, but I'm hoping this year we will have a net refund since we bought a house and had a baby!
It would go into emergency fund or paying off our first birth.
