I used to be all about running and spinning but things have changed! I'm currently doing barre and core/vinyasa flow yoga classes.
What about you?

@autumnlove: Which barre dvds are you using? The barre classes are really pricey and i'm probably going to cut my membership soon.

I really like the workouts on toneitup.com. I'll do a couple of those and then run or bike for a little while.

I used to be into running and spinning too!
I try to do Insanity 2x a week now - it's effective and saves time because I don't have to go anywhere. I find it hard to get myself to the gym or any sort of class where I have to schedule things around it now. I just try to squeeze in a workout at home whenever I have an hour window in my day.

I used to do spin and every class I could get my butt to.
Then I did crossfit. Loved it, can't wait to go back.
Did barre postpartum as a good low impact exercise (and they had daycare....)
Now i do traditional weight lifting+cardio. DH and I also like to bike and can't wait to take E with us this summer! And we play softball.

Lots of cardio in the forms of:
The Arc
Jogging (long distance, moderate pace)
HIIT (in the form of running)
And I do a lot of weight lifting but not for my arms, pretty much focusing on my lower back and butt right now, with some leg work in there too (squats, dead lifts..)

I've been crossfitting for 5+ years and was going to the gym 4-6 times a week. Then life flipped upside down. I'll be going back to crossfit as soon (which probably won't be for at least a month) as I can but I plan to start up yoga again in the next couple of weeks.

I tried jogging last night for the first time PP. Yeah, my body is still in recovery mode. OUCH! I also do some resistance training while LO's are awake. LO1 loves to workout with me!

I do a hybrid style bootcamp that includes lots of cardio and weight circuits. Love it!

@Mrs. High Heels: The barre classes currently work for me because they're only 45 minutes and a 5 minute drive. I get home before LO and DH wake up for the day! Of course, that means waking up at 5:30...
@blackbird: Biking with LO is the best!! I miss my 30 minute bike commute with LO. Work out + quality time rolled into one. I wish the snow would just go away...
@MrsSCB: I really should try doing one of those online workouts at work!
@CupQuakeWalk: You're really making me miss running. I really loved my tempo runs and speed work. But i just think, "peee...." and i chicken out.
@Leialou: @Sammyfab: I really wish i got into cross-fit. I only went to two sessions, and i just felt so weak compared to everyone else!

Spinning and running right now for me! I go to spin classes 2 mornings a week and I run at least 5 days a week. I start half marathon training on Monday!

@Freckles: Don't feel weak!! When I first started I could barely lift the 35 lb barbell above my head. Now (well...a month ago!), I lift well above my bodyweight! While I totally love Crossfit...it isn't for everyone. A lot of people don't enjoy the high intensity and its inherent competitiveness (whether it be with others or with yourself). If we lived in the same city I would totally be your CF buddy!

@Freckles: I definitely felt weak at first too! I'm still usually lifting the least amount of weight in the class. I just tell myself that no one is judging the amount of weight I have on my bar and if I focus on my technique I will get stronger. And I have.

I just started weight training with my personal trainer again (I worked with him my whole pregnancy, but it took a while to feel like I could leave LO at the gym daycare). Squats are so much easier without forty extra pounds!
As for cardio, right now I'm just walking (trying to push the pace and recover my pre-pregnancy mileage), but I plan to start running again this summer. It's not something I'm very good at, but I like interval training.
I would like to add a yoga class each week as well, but I'd have to coordinate with someone to watch LO.

I'm really into bodyflow right now, which is a mix of yoga, tai chi and pilates.

I'm doing a 4-week series from fitness blender that focuses on low impact workouts. I f'd up my knee doing the shred a few months ago and it still hasn't healed.

@autumnlove: which DVDs do you have?
I have been doing a Bar Method one at one but looking for another one
Do you prefer one over the other - Physique 57 or Pure Barre?
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@Freckles: that's great! one day i'd like to get back to waking up early to workout again - it's my preferred time of day… but i haven't had the motivation lately, and we've been sleeping so late!
honeydew / 7444 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: It's only because i've been forced to get up by 5am bathroom calls. May as well workout while i'm up!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@Mamaof2: I prefer Physique...the instructors are more fun and upbeat! I have the Classic and Advanced set!

Biking, mostly. And on off days I do some stair climbing and light weight lifting at home.
