we are currently in a one bedroom apartment and want to move into a two bedroom place in a couple months when our lease is up. we initially wanted to leave to a different apartment complex because the two bedroom apartment where we are is a bit more expensive than others ($1450 and upwards). we considered going for a duplex ( apartment with more than one floor) Now the issue is that even though the other apartment is slightly cheaper, all the bills are our responsibility which might work out to be more expensive. Also the other apartment is smaller even thought is has 1.5 bath and bedrooms upstairs.
I will add that we initially didnt like our current place because the management were very rude to us, and we vowed we wouldnt renew our lease, but that was 2 years ago and things have been fine since then.
What would you do?

ETA: duplex apartment has washer and dryer in the apartment but they are tiny and old looking so they may use up a lot of electricity and water. Our current place has multiple shared laundry rooms
