A lady from our church called today wanting to throw us a baby shower. It's very sweet of them and I don't see any way we can reasonably say no. However, I'm torn for a couple of reasons.

First...although we've been going to church there for about a year and a half we really don't know all that many people. My inlaws have been going there for much, much longer so people know them but not really us (especially since my husband is typically working Sundays and I go by myself). So, I'm not really sure who all will show up at this shower and don't want people to think we're gift grabbing.

Also, they told me to pick a date. I'll be 37 weeks on Wednesday which means we're running out of time to do it before hand. Especially since it needs to be on either a Sunday or Wednesday. Will they have time to announce the date, have the shower, and still have time to get things organized and thank you's written before the baby arrives?

They said I could pick a date after the baby arrives which I like the idea of because then at least there would be a cute baby to coo over. However, I'm not sure I'm too keen on the idea of pass the baby when she's so tiny. Also, who knows how long it will take us to get any kind of routine and I would hate to have to leave to feed her in the middle of a shower in our honor or have her be fussy.

Thoughts on what I should do?
