My parents found what looks like a wedding band (with diamonds) in one of their seats on a plane they took on their way to our house this weekend. They didn't trust giving it to the flight attendants so now they're trying to figure out how to get word to the owner. They left it with me. What would you do with it?

I think they should have trusted the flight attendants... Maybe give the airline a call incase someone calls about it?

I would call the airline and see if someone is looking for it.

Definitely call the airline! I'm sure they deal with lost belongings all the time.

I would take it back to the airport and give it to someone at the airline (maybe the lost baggage people?)

Another person chiming in to say that I would call the airline (would have called immediately). I left my I phone on a plane once and didn't realize until the plan had already left for its next destination.....and I called the airline in a panic, who ended up radioing the airplane (!) and asking the flight attendant to check to seat pocket. They found it and shipped it to me and I got it 2 days later.

Call the airline. I'm not sure how this would work now, but I think if it was reported/given to the airline right away they would have been able to check who had been sitting in the seat on the previous flight.

Yup definitely call the airline. My mom's boyfriend left his iPad on a plane, left the airport, got home, didn't realize it until the next day and it was returned! Pretty amazing really!
