I would want to block selfies, inspirational images and quotes, vague posts, crappy pictures of food and political posts. Oh and excessive gushy stuff about SOs!

Political stuff, also. Also, vague posts. If you're not going to indulge my curiosity, then don't post a snippet about it.
pomegranate / 3160 posts
@katiew92081: Ugh, that is the WORST. "Really wishing people wouldn't act like that..." or some crap. Then when you ask about it/bring it up, they DELETE the post...blaaaaah.
watermelon / 14206 posts
@ms.janedoe: yep, or they say, "don't worry about it" or "I don't really wanna get into it". We're already into it!
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
Political stuff- especially really snarky sarcastic political things, inspirational images and quote, anything FarmVille or cAndy crush related... And people who just complain all the time.
I would like to keep funny things, baby and wedding and vacation photos, funny pet photos... Fancy tastes I guess
clementine / 943 posts
Vague-booking. "I can't believe that just happened", "Sometimes people are so disappointing".
Also, Facebook pregnancy announcements. (Sorry!) I just think they're cheesy. I'm not talking about a status update, but people deliberately taking the time to plot and plan and take a special picture just to announce it to Facebook. It's just "too much". I know a LOT of people love them, but it's just not my thing.

@autumnlove: You just listed 90% of what's on social media!
bananas / 9899 posts
> "Did you know that millions of people every day suffer from _____ or live in _____ or need _____. THIS IS IMPORTANT. Repost this message to your wall or YOU HAVE NO SOUL. Most people won't. I obviously care so much about this because I pressed ctrl+C and ctrl+V and didn't actually get off my butt to do anything to actually help."
and similarily:
> "Little Suzy needs a new arm and if this isn't reposed at least 2 MILLION TIMES she won't get it for some reason, because you know doctors care about this kind of crap and have some magical way to track how many times some text was copied and pasted."
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
@pui: No Suzy, I will not repost this, you can live without your d@%^ arm! lol!
And that is all I have to say about that -.-
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
2nd, 3rd, and 4th all of the above.
Just post pics with captions and once awhile post about something cool in your life or a live TV event so I can tune in too.
bananas / 9899 posts
Oh and my favourite Facebook posts? People posting to Facebook about how much they hate Facebook.
pomegranate / 3759 posts
I agree to all of those. Anyone who shares more than 2 links in a row should get deleted asap. People who post pics of their LO multiple times a day. Even when the picture is blurry and out of focus. I'm sure you can line up their pictures and make a movie out of it with the amount they post!
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
WOUNDS.
Ugh. People need to post spoilers for that stuff before I see your DH's sawed off finger on the ground. HURL!
bananas / 9899 posts
@highwire: omg I so agree! I recently stopped following a page because they posted this huge graphic photo of someone with a serious head wound. I REALLY didn't want to see that!
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
@Mrs. Chalk: ew yes. I have vowed NEVER to post anything to do with A's diaper/potty, ever!
I also hate the 'change your facebook profile pink to support cancer' posts. My friend ranted and raved that we were all selfish and uncaring and horrible people for not doing this. She had no idea what we'd all done privately for cancer awareness. So annoying.
cherry / 153 posts
Religious posts, "inspirational" pictures/quotes/posts, vaguebooking, mommy martyring.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@autumnlove: same. Plus, I'd like to ignore the word selfies.
Plus, vague comments.
squash / 13199 posts
bathroom poses with kissy pout faces
People who post long vents about other people in a passive aggressive way
People who write long love notes to their SO instead of just texting them directly
pomegranate / 3204 posts
@Mrsbells: That gets on my nerves more than anything! I'm like if you have to tell the whole world your undying love for each other then there's probably something wrong in your relationship. I just don't get it.
pineapple / 12802 posts
People who advertise when they are "cleaning" out their facebook. "OMG, I'm going on a deleting spree of my friends list! if you can't see the next message I'm sorry! Don't take it personally" or "WOW, I just deleted 3282987 friends from my friends list, you're all the lucky ones who survived!"
oh gee, thank you so much for sparing me. I seriously wish people didn't advertise this! I don't see why they do? If I delete someone no one really knows! Like, do you need a round of applause for deleting "friends" that weren't your friends??
Oh, and I also hate "you know who you are" posts. Good or bad, I hate them. Just tag them already so everyone knows who your talking about or leave the comment off facebook.
pomegranate / 3204 posts
@.twist.: OH, I know! Hate this, it's like they want you to say to them oh please don't delete me.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Springtime: haha for real! and then you get the friends who obviously know they won't be deleted who are like "don't you delete me!" haha.. omg, I will just because you said that.
pomegranate / 3244 posts
I agree with everything other people have said. Let's just keep social media for what it's meant for: cat photos.
pomelo / 5469 posts
@Mrs. Chalk: My SIL posted about this once and I replied "TMI ;)" and she got really huffy with me!
Honestly, I think it's the same 2% of people on my FB who are guilty of all of these things. I have removed them all from my feed now, so I don't get annoyed on a regular basis!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
I don't think all self portraits are bad...just excessive ones!
watermelon / 14206 posts
I could also do without the memes that tell me to repost if I love my son/mom/dad/husband/jesus/dogs...I don't have to prove anything!
coconut / 8430 posts
I hate the vague posts too! I once had a friend who would talk like that in real life and it drove me crazy. I stopped asking and pretended not to be curious and eventually he stopped baiting me
I also hate the posts where people brag in a round about way in order to get compliments. Like "omg all of these (recruiters, modelling agents, producers, etc) keep calling and I'm SO not looking to do that right now... So annoying!"
pomelo / 5469 posts
I have another one: there seems to be an increase in the number of people using an app to track their running and then posting their route and time to FB!
grapefruit / 4671 posts
@Lindsay05: yes! that drives me nuts. Stop Facebooking or instagramming 50 photos of your LO in a row doing the exact same thing...lying on the floor staring at the camera. Some are blurry, some are fuzzy, some are off centre and they all look exactly the same!
grapefruit / 4187 posts
I would definitley block the re-posting of photos because they are usually really cheesy religious or political type ads. Or worse, those 'chain' pictures that say "Like unles you are a bad person and hate the disabled" If you didn't snap the picture or make the design, I don't want to see it!
I would also have a daily or weekly 'limit' to the amount of posts friends could make. DH's cousin posts updates constantly, she practically live-tweets her entire life and I am on the verge of deleting her even though she's a really sweet girl! She is a senior in college and honestly has nothing interesting going on. I get to hear about what professors are annoying her, what she eats for every meal and every thought that pops into her head.
