I will have a 4 year age gap between kiddos and was last pregnant/paying attention to baby stuff in 2014. I was just wondering what new stuff has come out that is awesome or more readily available or makes life easier. I see people reference the Hakaa pumps, which I swear were not common four years ago, and that makes me wonder what other new stuff there is. If you had a 2014 baby and then a baby more recently, did you discover anything new that you wish you'd had the first time around?

So I don’t think much of it is new really, but I’ve purchased things for my second I wish I would have sprung for with my first. Some of it’s sorta a mix of old and “been around a while”. It’s been three years since my first

Hakka pump (agree it’s pretty cool although I haven’t used it a ton, but it’s nice to keep at my bedside if I’m engorged at night
All of the new airline approved travel strollers. I have a tour but I’d might spring for a yoyo since it accepts a rider board
The swaddle up
The dock a tot is nice but not essential.A lot of the stuff listed above is expensive but I purchased most on amazon warehouse to save a few bucks.

@Littlebit7: I hadn't heard of the Tour! I'm bummed it doesn't take a carseat, I'm eyeing the mountain buggy nano because it'll take a carseat. We have a Cybex Aton and I was kind of hoping that more strollers would have adapters for it in the past 4 years but that doesn't appear to be the case. Also, I personally wouldn't bother with a rider board - I feel like everyone I know who buys them uses them once or twice but finds their older kiddo would prefer to use a scooter or balance bike to follow along.

Following! I hadn’t heard of the Haakaa pump - it looks so ridiculously simple!
I’m putting the finishing touches on my registry, so I’m interested to see what else people post!
One thing I’ll add to the list myself is these zippered crib sheets from QuickZip. It comes with a base that goes around the mattress and stays put, but the top part zips on and off so you can change the crib sheet with ONE HAND!

@ineebee: oh yes. Quick zip sheets are amazing. Everyone who has come over to our house and noticed them on the crib is amazed by them. We love them

@ineebee: We have those already! The Baby Bargains book recommended it and I recommend them to everyone and do not understand why they make other sheets. We layer a waterproof mattress pad and a clean layer, then another waterproof pad, then another clean sheet that we zip on so that in the middle of the night we only have to take the top sheet off, don't even have to get anything else out or do any real work!!!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: We have a go-pod already which is similar but I love that this converts to a table later! I was just telling my husband I think we should get another kids table for parties, but one that folds up.

I had my eldest in 2014 and I don't know if this stuff is new, but it's the only new items I had seen and decided I needed:
1. Fisher Price Sit-Me-Up Chair
2. Angelcare Bath Tub (so nice for double baths!)
3. Solly Baby WrapOddly I would say since having my son and being on round two that I've realized babies need very little. I've already sold the swing, bouncer, etc - we just don't use it enough to justify the space!

Depends on your feeding plans but I got the Freemie cups for my Medela PISA this time around and I'm excited. I imagine they won't have enough suction to be my main parts, but if I'd like to pump in front of DH or LO1, this will make it easier!

@mrsjyw: I’ve been meaning to post about whether the binxy baby is worth it! Sounds like you love it? I think I’ll mostly end up shopping with just #3. When #2 was a baby I always wore him to shop but it got old. The only thing that worries me is #3 will be little during winter and will that make her more open to touching/germs? Interested what you thought!

Those silicone pumps are the bomb. Plus so much new lactation support/supplements that I didn't know the first go around! I loved having the Boppy lounger with my 2nd. Basically nowadays, if the gear doesn't do 5 things in 1, it's not worth it
Oh and baby carriers that grow with the baby! Both Ergo and Tula have them now.

@ineebee: For me personally I tried this brand called Legendairy Milk (she is on Etsy and Amazon I think). Go check out her IG. I really think using that and the silicone pump was what got me to 12 months (and now beyond) EBF!

@mrsjyw: backpack diaper bag forever! I’m currently using one I scored for $7 post back to school sale from Target and I just have a eBags small packing cube for my daughter in it with a change of clothes, etc. Planning to add a second cube for kid 2.

I baby wore a lot too, but this is a nice option to have, especially after the newborn phase of easy baby wearing.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I plan to get the Skip Hop version of the actvity center you posted. Do you have either of those?

@agold: I have the green Oribel one and really like it. After buying the Oribel I saw the white Skip Hop in person at a store and preferred the thickness and quality of the Oribel plastic plus the white showed smudges.I want to say Skip Hop came with a foot rest thing in case the baby didn’t reach the ground. With the Oribel we folded up blankets underneath until LO was tall enough to stand on the ground. The Oribel converts to a toddler table and the legs stretch to become a table a 4 or 5 yr old can use too. LO uses his table to eat his meals and draw and color. The table is easy to stowaway when LO decides he wants to climb it. We bought the matching Oribel stools, but IKEA stools in white or green would work too.
Oh and baby carriers that grow with the baby! Both Ergo and Tula have them now.
