I had a $100 bill in my pocket last week and when I got home, it was gone. I'm so stupid! I knew I should have put it away in my purse but I was too lazy. I lost $300 once during a trip when I was in college. Alcohol may/may not have been involved. =\

About six years ago, we were in Las Vegas. My husband isn't a slot machine kind of person, but he did play one every morning in our hotel. Our last day, we were walking toward the machine. Someone ran in front of us, sat down, and won 10K on the first spin.
I'm still bitter all these years lol

I had a bad boyfriend in my early-mid twenties who ran up a load of debt in my name. I went to the police and he was arrested but it was my word against his and they couldn't charge him. I lost around £7000.

@pui: Mostly I was just happy that I have a very kind and understanding husband who did not get upset when I told him what I'd done (he just suggested that if I insist on preparing for the zombie apocalypse by keeping cash in the house, he'd suggest our fire box. Or maybe just invest in guns. lol)

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Phoebe is playing slots and this old lady sits in her chair as soon as Phoebe gets up to take a break. And she keeps following her around the casino. I've actually seen these types of lurkers before. Where they try to find a slot machine that hasn't paid out in a while and they quickly steal that machine before someone else does! UGH. Lurkers.

$200 while visiting family in Korea during college. During Christmastime, carelessly left my wallet out in a fast food place and it was gone by the time we went back.
A coach wallet too! ANNNND it had my green card.
So in essence, a lot more than the $200 in cash.

$400 in gift cards and $200 cash in a $100 wallet AND my cell phone...all at once. I was a sophomore in college. It was horrible.

I had $600 stolen out of my pocket in London. I had taken out all the money I thought I would need for my week-long trip there and right after I used the ATM, I stopped at a pub with my friends for one beer and when I got home, my money was gone. I'm still pissed about it!

I lost a check... I don't remember right now how much it was for and I know that I did get it reissued - I think it about like $700?? Thankfully they reissued it!!

I had my purse/debit card stolen and they cleaned out my bank account right after I'd deposited my paycheck, so right around $1000. I got it refunded by the bank a couple weeks later though.

About $3500 ... Someone made a bunch of charges on my CC - they ended up crediting me the $$ back though.. no hassle. So I guess I didn't really *lose* it

@yoursilverlining: I was just going to say... Any cash losses don't compare to the whipping my investment accounts have taken at various times. Most were paper losses but I've had some booked losses too.

@banana: @Rainbow Sprinkles: oh no! I can relate because this happened to me recently. I was so sad and am still sad.
I think my purse was slightly unzipped, it fell over, and I didn't notice anything fall out until I got home. I lost an expensive wrislet that I used as a wallet and makeup bag with $250 in gift cards from my babyshower and $100 in cash in it and also lost one of my favorite point & shoot cameras. Luckily, I didn't have any credit cards in there. I followed up with the restaurant where I lost it 4 days in row to see if anyone turned it in but nothing turned up. -
Um, DH lost his wedding ring which was just as bad as losing money!!
But I think I've personally lost $200, on our honeymoon. The same trip that DH lost his wedding band.
