For small dogs, I love dachsunds. They're so cute and funny looking! I totally want to adopt a dachsund one day. As for big dogs, love Golden Retrievers. They look so kind and gentle.

I have 1.5 Australian Shepherds (one's part Border Collie) so of course I love the breed. So smart and devoted and biddable. But I also have a soft spot for big dogs - Mastiffs, Giant Schnauzers, Great Danes, etc. I also love French Bulldogs. Oh and my sister's dog is mostly Papillon (we think) and he's such a lovebug. Ok, really I love all dogs

Boston Terriers and French Bulldogs. I also think Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are absolutely gorgeous.

@twodoghouse: Papillons rock! I had a mix once and he was awesome. I also met my friend's Papillon this weekend and I loved him SO MUCH. I wanted to steal him away.
Frenchies are adorable, but I've never met one.

i love big dogs -- bernese mountain dogs like newfoundlands. who can resist labradors. and my favorite small dog is dachshunds too!

Miniature dachshunds, I had one and loved him so much. There's a few really nice and beautiful big dogs I like e.g. golden retrievers or the grey labs that have the blue eyes.

I never had a dog so I don't know much about them. My hubby has had dogs his whole life- and had one when we met so he's my pup too now. He's a mix, German Shephard, Golden, etc.
Hubby loves German Shephards and now I love them too. I think because I know if we get another dog it will be one or a shephard mix- so I get excited when I see them.

Any smallish mixed breed, the more mixed the better to avoid nasty pure bred health issues. We have a terrier of some kind, and what seems to be a collie/beagle cross, and that'll do us for now! I like the look of labs etc, but wouldn't choose to have a dog I couldn't lift in an emergency.

I will always have at least a poodle mix (we have Lhasa-poos now) because of the reduced shedding and I'm allergic to dogs.

I love myself a big, floppy, drooly, cuddly Newfoundland dog! I don't think I could ever live with any other breed of dog now that I own one! For a smaller dog, maybe a Clumber Spaniel, because I hear they are quite Newfoundland-dog like.

I love all dogs, but cattle dogs are my favorite... and what is sitting on the couch next to me.

I adore poodles because I grew up with one, but also think that beagle puppies are beyond adorable. For a bigger dog, I'd love to have a greyhound.

We have a toy poodle mix, so that's my favorite
But I love French bulldogs and cavalier king charles spaniels! Unfortunately my husband and I are both allergic to dogs so we won't ever be able to raise those breeds of pups.
