I love to cross stitch. It's easy, mindless, and you always get an awesome result. I'm in the middle of my first latch hook, and it's also very easy, but I'm not in love with the finished product. It's a gift though.... so hoping my friend likes it!

@Mrs. Yoyo: It's hard to find time now a days! But it's so worth it when I do.
@chopsuey119: I never learned to knit. I'd love to do it someday though.

@artbee: I used to do it mainly in grad school as stress relief. I had a hard time finding patterns I liked, though.

@Mrs. Yoyo: I usually just make things as gifts, like aprons and bibs. I want to do a personalized one soon of LO, either for me or my mom.

@artbee: it's really easy! i would learn to crochet too!

@artbee: I love cross stitch too! But, I do it in spurts with long breaks in between. I've been working on the same project for 15+ years, haha! When I was younger, I also loved to do latch hook...i don't think furry looking wall hangings are in vogue these days though

I used to crochet a lot...I bought a book of patterns to make small stuffed toys...I made a few for LO's room :). Hopefully this link works:

@chopsuey119: Maybe when LO gets a little older that will be my next project.
@Mrs. Yoyo: Lol, I usually miss my stuff when I give it away! But I do love going to my friend's houses and seeing all of my artwork hanging up (usually paintings) and all the other crafts around that I've made them.
@JessLC: What have you been working on for so long? I bet it'll feel good when you're done! My latch hook is for a babies room.... hoping it will look ok there. No way would I expect it to hang in a living room! I actually love the look of the back of it rather then the furry part.

@mrs. wagon: You inspired me! I'm glad I did too, it's very easy.

@artbee: haha, it's actually not a big project, i just pick it up so sporadically, that I've had a hard time finishing. i really do love latch hook, and I always liked the look of the back too - I think in a baby's room, it would look so sweet!

@JessLC: I'm the opposite, once I start it I want to finish it asap. Probably best your way though, I go at it for so long my hands start hurting!

I used to cross stitch all the time when I was younger. I would get so excited when I finished one and couldn't wait to pick out my next design.
I used to sew all the time also. Curtains, pillow cases, blankets, etc. just for kicks and giggles. My mom was an avid sewing person so I picked it up from her.

Crocheting is my mindless activity because I don't really count my stitches
I like to cross stitch, but it takes more mental energy. And I've been working on this big lighthouse picture for my MIL for the last 2+ years. Good thing she doesn't know about it - otherwise she might start to wonder if she's ever going to get it!

@Alivoo01: My mom used to sew too, but I never learned. Well I did, but I wasn't good at it.
@Goldilocks1107: I don't feel like it takes too much mental energy. Maybe I just do easier projects.

@artbee: I'd love to learn to knit or crochet again...I know how but don't remember casting on or off I need to use some youtube videos

@sulli301: That's a good idea. I might have to steal it.
