I have a 2.5 year old but can't really remember what she loved to play with at a year old. We're going to a boy's first birthday party Saturday and I need gift ideas! I would ideally love to just order it on Amazon but we will be headed to the store tomorrow or Friday.

@BelugaBean: Bath toys are always a hit for one year olds. My kid likes the foam letters that stick to the tub and cups to pour water in and out of.
One is also the early stage of being able to play with Little People toys. My 18 month old is really into the school bus.

Stacking cups, shape sorter, or toy cars. DS is also a fan of the Vtech Go! Go! Smart wheel playsets. They can connect to other playsets.
