For me, it would be a plate of sliced sopressata with some sharp cheddar cheese. Maybe with a few basil leaves and tomatoes to go with it. Plus a glass of cabernet to wash it down.
What's your perfect spread of snacks in the evening?

@T-Mom: agreed!
I like salty snacks throughout the day but in the evening it's all about the sweets! I usually keep a bar of dark chocolate (80% cacao) on hand and have 1-2 squares in the evening. I also like to have a warm cup of tea, chai or homemade hot chocolate.

@mrbee: Wow, you so fancy!! I had to google "sopressata"
Are you talking about after-dinner snacks? It would be fruit (watermelon, honeydew, asian pears, or pommelos)... followed by cake or pie, haha!

Brie. Lots and lots of brie. Preferably St. Andre's Triple Cream. And sweet red grapes. Or sweet apples.

@sweetchic: We're both really into cured meats and when we first lived together, our local grocery carried a whole range of them... so we quickly figured out which ones we liked! I read though that cured meats aren't good for you, so I had to cut back. Ugh...
Haha your love of carbs is without equal... except perhaps by my love of carbs!

I normally eat huge dinners so I'm stuffed beyong belief that there's usually no room for anything until breakfast time. However, if there's dessert, it's usually something sweet so ice cream, pie, froyo, etc.

@mrbee: Nooo... you must not really love carbs because you were able to give them up!
Me? NEVER!! Loyal til the end, carbs for life, hahaha.

I go for a good mix of salty and sweet... with some alcohol mixed in - he he
The first thing that popped into my head was some Cheetos (I have no idea why), but the next thing was anything having to do with peanut butter and chocolate, maybe followed up w/ some red wine (Malbec, maybe?)

@sweetchic: Honestly, I feel like a struggling carboholic. Every day I go to get coffee, and I just stare lovingly at the blueberry muffins. It must be really creepy for the baristas!

I don't snack much at night, but I am a chips and queso addict! And really I love any kind of chips/bread and dip. And dessert.
