Dh and I decided last week that he'll have a vasectomy once we're done having babies.

Infertility. No need for permanent birth control.

@Leialou: me too!! But i'm back on the pill to help with my pcos. Before we found out about our issues, my husband planned on a vasectomy.

well ours was infertility... but i'm currently 35 weeks pregnant with my second LO after a surprise pregnancy (that was told would never happen naturally)... so we'll end up coming up with another plan at some point.

D'll get cut either two years after we're both 100% sure we don't want a second LO (so we have a little time to change our minds) or during pregnancy/immediately after the birth of a second.

DH will get snipped sometime after we have a second. Probably not right away, but within a few years.

Unless I have a c-section for the last kid and I can get my tubes tied at the same time, DH will be getting snipped.

No plan for a permanent method. I'm sure my fertility is way down by now, though!

Unless I am already going under the knife for a C-section, my SO will be getting a vasectomy, and he's fine with that.

no idea yet, but i have briefly thought about DH getting snipped and brought it up and he wasn't against it. so far off our radar now though.

I asked DH if he'd get a vasectomy and he said hell to the no. I'm not getting my tubes tied so we probably won't have a permanent solution.

Since it wouldn't be during our next birth, DH volunteered to take one for the team. But, we don't know when we will actually go through with it. The permanence of it scares us lol.

The plan is a vasectomy but I think that after our second I will get another mirena and wait until that has to be removed so we are sure we are done. That's assuming menopause doesn't hit first because apparently in my family it comes early.

@Bao: Short answer: Insurance. Long answer: He looked into it 2-3 months after our youngest was born because we were done making babies. {Full disclosure: He was hesitant, but his main incentives were the lack of sleep & lack of something else for fear of a surprise.} His insurance required manadatory classes for men interested in a vasectomy and that coupled with the consultation and actual procedure pushed the date into the following year. He was coming onto my insurance plan as of January 1, so he waited until then and had it done under my plan's coverage.
