I occasionally post pictures. My parents will sometimes post their own but know I don't care for oversharing. They are very respectful of my wishes and I have a small friends list.

@Applesandbananas: I'm assuming you have your pictures set so only your friends can see them. You could even set different list and only let that list see pictures you post, etc. ie a family list.

Yea, if someone reshares your photo and your account is set to private, none of that oerson's friends will be able to see it unless they are friends with you.

I post pictures of all my kids on Facebook and Instagram. Both of them are private.

@Smurfette: yes MIl doesn't know this and I hope no one tells her! She shares my pics and that just means SIL & niece get to see it again because we have very few friends in common!

I have no issues about posting pictures of DD on social media. All of my accounts are private so I don't see it as a big deal at all.

I have private accounts and post pics of my son.

Never any naked pics obviously. My family is allowed to post pics, they have private accounts too and know about the naked rule. If they posted something offensive I wouldn't have an issue telling them to take it down.

I'm pretty lax. My FB is set to private. I never share pictures that would embarrass or demean her.

She models sometimes so I feel like her face is already "out" there

I share photos occasionally but have private settings. My dad has posted a few pics or shared mine but does it minimally. However my step mom is FB obsessed and has posted tons of pics the 2 times she has seen DS (live out of state). It really bothers DH and I because she has no discretion but so far nothing has been offensive enough to confront her about but I am ready to have a talk when needed.

We share pics with a select group of family and friends. If they share only our mutual friends can see. The only people who post occasional pics are our parents and they have tiny friend lists anyways and their settings are limited to just friends. We are comfortable with it. I typically just tag our parents in pics we think they'd share anyways.

@Applesandbananas: yes if they're tagged their friends can see. I felt bad when they'd share pics and o my our mutual friends could see! They have mostly family members I'm not friends with so I am comfortable with that on occasion.

@Applesandbananas: @catomd00: when you tag someone in a picture, FB automatically changes your photo privacy settings from friends to friends of friends. But you *can* manually change that.

And a general note, all cover & profile photos are public. Even when it's no longer set as such it still remains public. But when it's not set as your profile or cover, you can go in and delete it OR change the privacy setting back to private.

I have a facebook account on which I have, like, 12 friends, none of whom would ever share any of my pictures because their friends don't care about my kid. I have a private IG account and choose my friends - I have blocked all of Hubs' family, because they like to screenshot and share my photos. My MIL does post photos of D on her own facebook, but it's rare. I wish she wouldn't, but their family already thinks I'm ridiculous with some of my rules and parenting stuff...I can't even imagine what they'd all say about me if I told her stop posting photos. If it gets out of control with the birth of #2 in a few weeks, then I'll say something, but for now it's not worth the family drama.

I don't use fb to share photos. I just am part of my March Moms group and follow local businesses. I share tons of photos on my private IG account
