I felt like a MILLION bucks when I woke up. At 7:00am. For serious!? In college I'd sleep until like 11 or 12 haha!
Does anyone else feel like this?

I was just thinking that this morning! 7 is still a little early for me, but I was laying in bed, resting but awake, from about 7-8 and thinking how awesome it was... then remembering the days in college when I slept PAST noon.
But really, is there anything better than sleeping until YOU want to get up, in a comfortable bed, with the room at that perfect comfortable temperature?
I was telling the baby (still preg) to remember to call for Dada in the morning

Ummm, Little Miss decided that 6 a.m. was morning today. Wouldn't have been so bad except DH was out the door by 6:30 for work and I slept like crud.

@mrbee: I made it to 8 one time but it was after a girls night and DH had Jacob duty
@Foodnerd81: Oh college, how I miss thee I wonder if we could invent a retreat for parents where each room has no windows, a thermostat, a sleep number bed and no clocks. We could make millions.
@MaisyMay: 6am Ugggh....Maybe she'll let you nap today!?

I'm a morning person and 7am was sleeping in for me pre-baby. DH is a night owl so he takes 2 evening/late evening feedings and I sleep for a 5 hour stretch from like 8pm-1am and then after I pump, feed LO, etc. I sleep for another 2 hours or so.

@septemberlove: That's almost the exact schedule we had when J was a newborn!

7am (heck, 630am) was sleeping in pre-baby but now we sleep in until almost 9am most days! It's crazy but I feel rested, so no complaints

@blackbird: I'm sorry, WHAT?! That's the opposite! Haha!
J went down for a nap and DH is still snoozing so here I am having some mommy time on HB, catching up on the DVR and sippin' my coffee while the rain falls. Ahhhhhhhhhh

Right???? E woke up at 6:30 (after a roughhhhh night) and I just laid him in between DH and I in bed so he could babble to himself, closed my eyes and got another 20 minutes. 7 is much better !

I'm always so happy when I get to sleep in until 7am. I do the mornings, so DH doesn't have to get up. I need caffeine right now. Yesterday, I was so exhausted from the week that going to bed exhausted at 11 and sleeping until 7am felt magical.

E doesn't wake up until 9am but then again he doesn't sleep until 9:30pm so sometimes I wish he would be in bed at 8pm and wake up earlier.
I can't ever imagine being happy about 7...ever.

@babyjmama: I doubt it. We have a friend coming over today to make baby wipes, lactation cookies, and baby food. I'm guessing DH and I will just have an early night.

Yes! DS usually gets up at 6:30 latest but today he slept till seven. It was amazing!

Well J usually gets up at 7, but 8am is def sleeping in and thanks to my job, I now wake up at 7-7:30 regardless! On the upside - having a job has cured my insomnia and I can now fall asleep at 9pm!

I was just thinking that this morning! L woke at 650 but I will take it!

@Running Elley: I love that extra 20 min when they can just entertain themselves. That's how j fell asleep on my legs the other day haha!
@cascademom: I don't think I've seen 11pm (on purpose) in a LONG time
@scg00387: It took until J was probably...8 or 9 months?
@TurtleDoves: 9am sounds like a DREAM! But I'm long gone to work by 9am so it wouldn't change my routine except weekends.
@sarbear: Ugh...that's an early morning! Been there...done that. *sigh...
@MaisyMay: It will be nice to spend time with your friend, but a nap woooould be lovely...
@T-Mom: Yay 7am!
@Mrs. Pen: Thank goodness your insomnia is cured! As much as it stinks to have to go to work, I feel some sense of accomplishment by knowing I got up and got dressed and out of the house. If I were home I'd stay in pj's and never shower
@dagret: Heck yeah! Better than 5am for SURE

@babyjmama: I haven't seen 11pm in a long time either. I'm usually passed out by that time. Last night, my DH made sure that I took a shower. After that, I was toast. I want to do so much by the time that LO goes to bed, but I'm way too tired to.
In college, I took all of my classes in the morning, napped during the afternoon, and then studied after the naps. Now as a parent, it seems like morning wake ups will equal more activity for LO.

Baby isn't even born yet and 7 am is sleeping in for me. I've always been an early riser no matter how hard I try to sleep until 10. It just sounds so glorious!
pomegranate / 3595 posts
LO hasn't slept past 6 in months and I am usually a solo mama in the am, so even the idea of sleeping until 6:30 sounds amazing right now...how times change!
nectarine / 2964 posts
Seriously, when do they start sleeping pass 7am? I guess that will never happen until we push his bedtime back? lol
There was a brief period, after we just started daycare, LO would sleep till 8:30am on weekends (bedtime at 7pm). I think he wasn't getting enough nap during the weekdays, and that was quite heavenly! Then a few weeks later, the "problem" "corrected" itself. Argh.

Wow 7am is fabulous! Between 5 and 5:30 is more out norm around here!

If my kids slept in until seven I think I would just die. We are usually up by six.

Thank you! Was just thinking the same thing! SO and I asked DS to please try to sleep until 7am tomorrow morning

@irene: J is really hit or miss, I don't have a good answer for this. Some days he'll wake up at 5 and be up for the day, others he'll go back to sleep for a couple of hours. That didn't start until he started really moving around (I'm assuming b/c he was wearing himself out)
@jetsettermomma: Hehe I hope it worked!

Sadie usually sleeps 9pm-8am, and that's still too early for me. I've already requested my birthday gift this year: let me sleep! I could sleep until 11 easily. I'm afraid to move her bedtime earlier, because I can't handle 6am. I'd be a real B.
pineapple / 12234 posts
B is such a morning person by nature so he has never really slept past 6am his internal clock makes him wake up at 5am! Lately E has started waking up at 6 too...arggh! I will never sleep!!

I have no complaints about LO's wake up time but I miss getting up on my own accord and not having to start my day quite so quickly..she's up and go, go, go!
@photojane: I read that you should do it 20 mins at a time until it affects their morning wake up, four days for each 20 minutes. I tried it and got LO's bedtime to 8pm. She used to wake up at 630 (that was always the wake up time even before I moved up the bedtime) and recently has been sleeping til 7/730am. I'm a sahm so that's why our schedule is
