How far along were you?
If you were gifted the crib, when did you set it up?
Originally, I was going to wait for the baby shower but I'm wondering if we should just buy it ourselves. DH said his mom was thinking of buying or sending us money to put towards the cribs.
My sister's are planning an (out of state) baby shower for us in July. I'll be 27 weeks along.
ETA: Oh, there's already talk about the babies coming early (let's hope they don't), so it's getting me a bit nervous on waiting.

I bought one off Craigslist already assembled at 10 weeks. But I knew I wanted the exact crib- and I saved $400 otherwise I would have waited. I did later learn this particular crib can have a several month wait list- so if you know what you want I would look into it now.

We bought ours slightly after we found out the gender. Set it up a couple months before due date.

My parents gifted us our crib and I think DH set it up in March and LO was born at the end of April.

I am 24 weeks and still haven't bought it. I'm not in a huge rush. Though, in my mind, there are plenty of cribs out there that would be acceptable to me. Also, for the first few months, LO will probably not sleep in the crib anyways, so even if it didn't get here on time (which it will), we'd be fine... I had a friend order one early because she thought it would take 5 months to come in, and it took like 5 days, so I am not stressed about this at all. Will probably buy it sometime within the next three months.

I forget when we ordered it, but looked really early & heard lots of them have 12wk lead times (BBB, BrUs, furniture stores). We had ours delivered (in less than the 12wk lead time) & DH set up ~20wks, I think.

We bought LO 1's crib almost 4 months before she was born. We bought a second crib about 6 weeks after LO 2 was born.

we set up the crib about a month before I was due. DH's mom bought us our crib and our shower was early August and DD was born 3 week of Sept.
If you want the completion coupon earlier, you should see if you can move your due date up on your registry.

I think 27 weeks is fine to wait. If it is getting closer and your doctor thinks the twins would be coming even earlier then you would have a better idea and could get them then. You could even have everything set up but the crib.
38ish weeks? We moved right before my due date and got it then. We planned on using the PnP if it came to it. DS ended up being late so no big deal and we never used the crib anyway.
With DD we didn't get it until we bought a house and moved when she was few months old (the one we wanted wasn't released yet). She's almost 18 mo and it is still in the box!!

I bought a crib 3 months after LO was born in anticipation of sleep training. We had her sleep in a cosleeper on the bed and next to the bed in the first few months.

My dad told us on the phone that he'd like to buy the crib for us, and asked for a link to the one we wanted - it arrived when I was around 15 weeks, and we set it up that night. (To be clear, the room we were using for a nursery wasn't really used for anything else, so there was no reason to wait to set it up.)

We got the crib about a month before baby arrived. It was 2-3 weeks from time we ordered to delivery.

It might depend on the crib you pick out. Some take months to deliver, so you might not want to wait too long.

We bought them around 20 weeks. They were delivered a week later and DH assembled them right away. We did it so early because DH was home from work for two weeks around Christmas so we were trying to get as much done then as possible. It was nice having the nursery ready early just in case. However, they slept in our room for the first couple months so there wasn't a huge rush to have the cribs ready!

@bluestriped bee: Don't forget to ask for a twin discount when you buy them! A lot of places will give a discount if you buy two large items. We got our cribs at Pottery Barn and I think it was 15%.

I think my mom bought ours for us when I was around 22 weeks pregnant with our first.
With our second, I think I was maybe 34, 35 weeks?

Around 28 weeks. I thought it was a little early,but my husband has been saying we should get everything set up since I was 10 weeks.

No crib here, but if we were using one, I would already have it purchased (27 weeks now, and we bought the furniture at least a month or two ago), but not assembled. I would vastly prefer it be assembled, but DH hasn't finished painting and we're waiting to put together the furniture till after that. If I were worried at all about her arriving early, I would have made certain it was already done. Her stuff is all still in the attic (put it up there last year), and it's stressing me out! I don't remember exactly what we still need to buy!

Ours was gifted when I was around 7 months, and I set it up pretty much right away (3/4 of our nephews came early, so I wanted to be prepared).

I am 27 weeks now.
We ordered our crib at 22 weeks. Our parents went in on it together. We assembled it a week later, the day it was delivered. I couldn't wait! 
I ordered it so early because it was supposed to take 4-6 weeks to ship, but it came super early!
We already have her dresser, changing pad thing, crib mattress & rocking chair setup. So now we just have to decorate and I'm waiting until after our June 14th baby shower to do that, so we know what all we still have to buy.

Our friends gave us their old crib and my FIL painted it. It wasn't set up until 38 weeks! Ha. But we had a cosleeper for her for 5 months so I tried not to stress about it too much.

I think I was about 26 or 27 weeks when we ordered our crib. But it didn't arrive until I was 34-35 weeks, I think.
Depending on how long it might take to be delivered, I'd order sooner rather than later.

@bluestriped bee: probably somewhere around 20 weeks we got our bassinet. i don't worry about crib until little is a couple months.

Our crib was used from family so we didn't have to go out and buy one.
We moved in November so it was brought over and set up late November and she was born early January.

I think at about 23-24 weeks? I was really anxious to get it set up; like that would make things real? DH was a little annoyed, but it was on sale, so I pushed for it.

Around 22 weeks or so. I found the one I had been lusting over on CL for less than half the price of new, so we went for it!

With #1 we had it ordered in January I think, maybe even a little sooner. With number 2....I'm pretty sure she didn't have a crib until she was well over a month old. Poor second child lol

My parents gifted us our crib and changing table around 24 weeks and then we had the most horrendous, ridiculous experience with delivery (basically they sold us the pieces in a color they didn't actually make...this is PBK too, not some little company). They didn't arrive until 2 days before I was induced.
So basically, my opinion is to get it early, you never know what might happen!

LO's crib is actually DH's crib from when he was a baby, so we didn't have to buy it. We brought it home super early, like by 10 weeks or so! I'm a planner, and had LO's completley nursery done before 20 weeks so don't use me as a good measure of when to get it haha

I'm 26 weeks, and we just got our crib set up this past weekend for Mother's Day. But we started the ordering process at the end of March! We ran into a couple different problems trying to order from BRU and in the end decided to just go with a local store. Once we placed that order, we had it in 2 weeks.
