Prior to having a baby, our ideal was to have 2 kids. Now, I'm not sure. We may be in the "one and done" camp! I thought it was just me, but I think DH feels the same way. But LO isn't even 3 months old and we might change our minds when she's older.
Did you change your mind about how many kids you wanted? If not, when did you decide you wanted another?

I'm the opposite. Prior to having lo we wanted two..... and the second she came out I wanted more! Now I want at least three. When my tearing stopped hurting about a month after she was born I was ready for more 
Of course that's not practical so we're waiting, and it might not be practical financially to have more than two so I might not get my three

We always said we wanted two, and like you, now Im not so sure .Liv is 13.5 months old, and I still have no urge for another. I have a feeling it will hit me at some point, but right now, no. I want them 3-4 years apart anyhow, so maybe thats why

I didn't start wanting another until DD was around 18-19 months so it can take a while!

We started talking about #2 maybe 15 minutes after had Lo? Haha
I didnt want to get pregnant until Lo was at least a year old though. I got pregnant 3-5 days after my Lo's 1st birthday!

we both want more(him 2 me 3). i thought for sure that i wouldn't be 'ready' for a while after DS was born....i've got serious baby on the brain and DS is only 4 months old! i don't want them to be too far apart, we are probably going to start trying no later than his 1st birthday.

After she turned 2.5 yo, I had baby fever again.
When she was an infant, I had no desire for another so soon... And when she was 12-24 months, we were just enjoying getting over the stress of the first year; couldn't imagine doing it again so soon. Plus, DH and I loved to spend QT with her and only her for those first two years.
Our girls are a little over 3 years apart and we are really happy with the age gap!

I always wanted 3. After the birth of LO I felt like I couldnt go through the whole thing again, but I definitely dont want to only have one child. Now I think I may only have 2, but deep down I still want 3

When DS was an infant I did not want anymore kids. Once he was around 2 I got major baby fever and LO #2 will be born when DS is 4. I really like the age gap, DS is so interested in my pregnancy, how the baby comes out, etc. He is very excited so I'm hoping that will eliminate some of the jealous feelings when LO is actually here in about 4 weeks.

I am starting to want another one but sometimes I still think about how easy life is with just one. Plus I really want to enjoy and experience her "firsts" some more (through the second year).

We originally said we would be happy with 1, and we only wanted 2 max a few years apart. Now, we both for sure want at least 1 more, and I want 2 more (still trying to get DH on board with that). If we were better off financially and DHs hours weren't so crazy I'd be ready for #2 now!

I want less since going the birth experience!! Hated every second and felt like I was dying. It was traumatic. Ds has been such a stellar baby though that it's made me want to try for #2 when ds is only one. But money is not on our side I'd probably get pg pretty quickly second time around and I have stuff to do before #2

I originally wanted 4 kids, but after having two and seeing how expensive it is to raise kids these days we're stopping at 2. Plus, age is a factor for me too. My OB recommended that if I wanted to have another one to have it in the next two years. I asked just in case!

DD definitely made me reconsider if I wanted more. I LOOOOOVED birthing her but she is a completely different temperament than DS was and hasn't been the "easiest" baby, plus the first 2 1/2 months put alot of strain on my & DH's marriage. We're definitely better for it now and DD is starting to level out (5 months) so we're both back in the having more camp..... probably start ttc when she's ~2 (when she's 17 mths I want a June baby).

I wanted more as soon as my hormones went back to normal. I want a big family, like 4 or 5. We'll see who God blesses us with.

We are both 4-5 years older than our siblings and not very close to them, so we want ours to be closer together.
We started talking about the next one when we came home from the hospital. We decided we would open discussions up again in August- by July I had already delayed negotiations until January. I'm just not ready to be pregnant again in 2012, so tired!

For me, very soon after LO was born, but I told myself not to think about it until he was at least 9 months old (recovery for myself). Once that time came around, I wasn't sure, but by the time LO was 10 months baby fever started creeping in again.

hubby started talkng about baby 2 before LO was born! now ive jumped on the crazy train and want another baby and lo is only 9 weeks old, were jst SO So in love with him, he makes us want a million more kids. BUT i dont want to start ttc until he's almost ayear. i want to be able to enjoy him throughly and give him all my attnetion for a while!

I go back and forth. I've always envisioned having 2 and LO's birth was great, but I hated being pregnant and the first 3 months of LO's life were hard. She has acid reflux and basically cried non-stop. Now at 5 months she's pretty awesome, so I can see thinking about wanting another one maybe in a year or year and a half.

I always wanted at least two, and then I started later in life that my "plan" and am brutal at being pregnant so two sounded good. When I only had one I didn't feel like our family was complete, but now that I have two I do. I feel like I'm done with the pregnant/newborn thing and am excited to grow together as a family now.

I always wanted to have two but after ds was born, I was more than happy with just him if we weren't able to have another. I always thought 2 years apart was ideal. I did get pregnant again earlier than planned but they are still just shy of being two years apart. Seeing their interactions with each other now are just precious. But I am done having more.

I have wanted two for as long as I can remember. DS just turned one and I can't imagine having another anytime soon. I think 4-5 years apart is what we're going for but we'll see. He's keeping me busy by himself for now.

@Crumbs: I am like you. I always wanted two but we may also be in the one and done camp after having DS. He's an amazing baby but not easy by any means. We are definitely not in the 2 under 2 camp!!!

Revisiting an old thread. Out of curiosity, has anyone that wanted just one changed their minds in the past 6 months since this thread was started? I was actually doing a random search and was surprised to see that I was the one that wrote this when DD was barely 3 months!
She's 9 months now and still no baby fever, but I do the pros and cons in my head often! I feel like DD is more than enough, yet I'm afraid we'll regret our decision in a few years (although IF we do decide to try for another we'd definitely wait until she's closer to 2 years old).

Right after LO was born we wanted another. But I went through crazy PPD a month later and then wanted to be 1 & done. Now we have decided to TTC when LO turns one, but it's not for us, it's for her. It's easier now knowing that the newborn days end and it gets easier.

Yes, I thought I wanted two before I had kids, but then I had my daughter and knew I wanted three. Who knows whether I'll change my mind again after #2!

@Crumbs: always thought I'd want 2 or more babies but after I had LO I had no baby fever. She was such an easy baby and I love her so much and have so much fun with her that I have no desire for another...but my husband tells me that you have the second baby so the first LO is not alone. LO is 16 months and I'm just now starting to think maybe ill be ready to start trying for #2 at the end of this year after LO turns 2

I honestly have wanted number two since number one arrived. he is such a good baby and a doll we want another to love just as much! we only live in a 2/2 and will undergo renovations, so it will be a while before number 2 comes.

@sandy: I've just recently read about the benefits of a 3 year age gap. It "supposed" to be easier than when they're closer in age and some experts even say it's ideal. Honestly, it made me feel so much better because now I can stop weighing the pros and cons and just chill for another year before we think about it again. Like you, I'm thinking about a companion for her. But if it was just for us, she's more than enough already
